Does anyone know the flasher/turn signal relay location in a 1995 cherokee se? I'm getting conflicting information. I found a schematic that places it in the fusebox, but my fusebox looks nothing like the schematic. I'm also reading that it's behind the panel below the steering column, and that it's behind the glove box. Additionally, auto zone pictures it as a round object, and advance auto parts pictures as square. Thanks in advance for your assistance....

Googles giving me all sorts of different answers, so I thought Id ask you guys - anyone know where the turn signal relay is located on a cherokee xj 1998?. My left side turn signals are flashing to fast (right signals are fine). Checked the bulbs and cleaned up the connections. The grounds are ok as far as i can tell, so I reckon the relay might be on its way out... if anyone can point me in its direction it would be much appreciated!.

Turn signal relay is behind the panel under your steering wheel. The relay is located below your headlight switch. I just replaced mine and the stock relay color is grey, well atleast mine was.

Got the relay changed over with a nearly new reconditioned relay I picked up super cheap on ebay (actually got 3 of them for 10).
I know its not exactly a complicated job, but I thought Id post a couple of pics in case there's anyone out there as clueless as me, in need of help
Again, thanks to dkcherokee and freegdr for the links and pointers..

Mines a right hand drive, so obviously for you lefties the relay will be on the left side of your steering column. Heres some pics of the part number, etc.

I just bought a flasher relay for $40.00, when the dealer said the part would be $125.00. I'm really glad I did the fix myself! The only problem I ran into was the fact that there was some sort of tape with foam on it around the connection between the relay and the female part of the plug. I was wondering if there was a purpose behind having the foam tape around the connection besides to keep the relay in place?

Note to self ALWAYS search this forum first. Just replaced turn signal / high beam switch THEN replaced flasher to solve the problem! Never would have thought the 4 way flasher was independent of turn signal flash. $50 switch $19 flasher. Its the sons Jeep and my money and time. Oh well keep on moving forward. Maybe I'll get a thanks Dad!

Mine has similar symptoms but it's on my passenger side. When I turn on the hazard lights, they blink at the normal rate though. Does that still sound like the turn signal relay?

So I swapped in a new relay and now the turn signal turns on, but stays on (no blinking) which tells me there's too much resistance I would think. I guess I have to chase down a wiring or ground issue...
