Why are these made of plastic, and seem to be cheap, or easily broken. 09-27-2019, 11:16 PMCF Veteran

Burned or cut/hacked wiring, or broken connectors? Depending which, it should be an easy fix. CF Veteran

I want to say that the usual going rate for this on Ebay is more like $100 to $110. 09-28-2019, 08:06 AMNewbie Thread Starter

The fuel injection wiring harness melted. My mechanic actually cut off the melted section and pieced it back together. There's an interesting YouTube on upgrading this model's fuel injectors: "
" ~ really curious about doing this. It seems this fuel injection problem is in models 99-01. Chrysler evidently designed different injection system on these particular Cherokee models. CF Veteran

Kind of figured it was something that would not require replacing the whole harness. https://thexjguys.wordpress.com/2012...injector-swap/ Last edited by Ralph77; 09-28-2019 at 08:24 AM. 09-28-2019, 08:27 AMNewbie

All mine broke during the 4 hole injector install. 20 year old brittle plastic and all. My guess is there more for manufacturing. So connectors don't get pulled apart as it goes down the line. Newbie

These are the new plugs, so there wasn't much to clean. I also made sure the the rubber sleeve on the coil had a good connection before tightening it into place. I am probably going to catch some flack for this but I run Champion Copper Tops, 438's, in my '00. I don't know how to test the injectors and connectors. Well it sound like you are heading in the right direction. Last edited by Ralph77; 09-28-2019 at 10:15 AM. 09-28-2019, 10:50 AM

Sorry to hijack this but did you notice a difference after installing the 4 hole ones? Which ones did you buy and from who? I'm thinking this may be my next project. Thanks 09-28-2019, 11:27 AMSenior Member

much. https://www.injector.com/cart/pc/home.asp Now for the embarrassing part. So the butt dyno wants to say the is Jeep peppier. Seem to idle and run smoother. Did not really notice any increase in gas mileage. At least around town. On the highway People have stated, and I kind of agree with this, the improvements you do see are really not because of the 4 hole injectors but just the simple fact that you have fresh ones Last edited by Ralph77; 09-28-2019 at 01:32 PM. The following users liked this post: What is a fuel injector harness? The injector harness connects directly to the injector connector on the main harness. It allows you to configure any main harness to work with the most common injector type and quantities with a simple snap-in (4-Cylinder Bosch, 8-Cylinder EV6, etc.)
What gauge is fuel injector wire?12V for fuel injectors: use a 14 AWG connected to a 40A relay. For up to 4 injectors, a 20A fuse is recommended. For up to 8 injectors, a 30A fuse is recommended.
