1 Transmission Solenoid problemFailure Date: 02/28/2021 5th cylinder misfire caused by broken valve. Also not shifting right caused by transmission solenoid. 2 Transmission Solenoid problemFailure Date: 03/03/2020 My 2014 chevy Impala misfires while driving and loses and regains power while driving. I took it to a mechanic and it is the rocker arm control valve solenoids. I did some research it this is a known issue for 2014/2015 Impalas and malibu's. This is very unsafe and can cause accidents. Also, this part has been on backorder for several months so owners are having to drive with check engine light on. This should be a recall. 3 Transmission Solenoid problemFailure Date: 10/30/2019 Oil control solenoid valve failure causing loss of power, instability at all speeds, and surging of engine. Gm does not have any parts to repair this item and does not have a eta on when they will get them, there are no aftermarket options availible either due to the rate of failure. Gm part# 12633613. 4 Transmission Solenoid problemFailure Date: 02/27/2018 This car has been a lemon since we owned it. First the electrical system shut down (while we were driving at 70 mph), then the wheel barrings needed replacing at 60,000 miles, and now the solenoid has gone bad preventing the car from shifting. 5 Transmission Solenoid problemFailure Date: 07/17/2017 Dealership could not find problem with transmission stalling out on pulling out. Now with warranty lapsed transmission solenoid is bad. $1300 to repair.

Found the epc solenoid to be bad after connecting a pressure gauge to the pressure port and found low line pressure across the board when doing a pressure test with a scanner and commanding different amperages and comparing to a pressure chart. There was also a range where the pressure stayed at 110 psi across a 400 milliamp range when commanded, which definitely says its not a pump issue. I pulled the sidecover after lowering the subframe and replaced the epc solenoid with this acdelco part along with a new filter and fluid. I cleared the TAPS or shift adapts with the scanner. Hooked up pressure gauge again and did line pressure test and all pressures were within the specified range. Took for test drive and thr shifts firmed up nicely and no more slipping from a takeoff. Reviewed in the United States on February 11, 2021 This fixed my transmission, it was lurching into gear from a red light, and slipping, after I replaced this my tranny pressure went back to normal and it sucked the pan dry, I had to add 2.5 quarts of transmission fluid to fill it back up!! CHECK YOUR FLUID IMMEDIATELY AFTER REPLACING A DEFECTIVE PRESSURE SOLENOID!!! My car thanks you AC Delco. Another symptom was a very slight chatter noise coming from my tranny valve body. Also when it was below freezing, and car was not warmed up yet, issue would be most pronounced Reviewed in the United States on April 20, 2020 I wasnt pulling a code but from what i read it was long shifting that i was experiencing. This was not an easy job to do in the slightest. I hope you know what your doing when you go after this. I am not the most experienced but luckily i had a lift of sort to drop the whole cradle to get enough clearance to get the side pan off. Still took me about 9 hours to do. However this part fixed my issue and i recommend it. Do the shift solenoids while your at it. They are in the same spot and will help immensely. Reviewed in the United States on April 5, 2021 This actually fit the transmission that it was listed in the description. However it arrived so late I got a refund and got to keep the product. Not very good compensation for losing a pissed off customer that I will probably never see again due to the tardiness of the delivery. Reviewed in the United States on June 30, 2015 I find this to be the #1 cause of that "max adapt long shift" code that sets in the 4T65E transmissions. If the shifts are mushy and sluggish and after awhile the shifts turn hard and is accompanied by this code, I would take that side cover off the transmission and replace this thing. If you are installing a used transmission, replace this part before you install it into the car. It was a problem in these transmissions for many years, and in 2003, they re-designed this part a bit, but experience is says that this part never got improved. It just needs replacing every 100k or so. Depending on what you drive, the technician may be able to replace just the failed shift solenoid.
