Can the ER help with a tooth? If you need emergency dental care and go to the Emergency Room (ER), the ER will treat you and then bill your health insurance. The ER is not likely to be able to treat a dental problem unless it is a health emergency. They may use temporary measures to relieve pain until you are able to see a dentist.
How quickly can you get emergency dental treatment? Most dental practices will keep a number of appointments available for potential emergency appointments and usually you will be able to be seen in the next 24 hours. This appointment may be within or outside the usual operating hours of the practice.
Should I go to ER for tooth pain?Do I Need to Go to the Emergency Room for Tooth Pain? The short answer is that you should go based on how you feel. If you have excruciating tooth pain that you can't take for a second longer or prolonged, excessive mouth bleeding that you can't get under control, you may need to head to the emergency room.
