Due to construction at Father Hennepin Park and staff shortages, the traditional Red, White and Boom celebration, including fireworks over the Mississippi River, will not be held this year.

Red, White, and Boom! 4 Mile

• Start Fourth of July with a race and a county fair-themed festival.

Tangletown 4th of July Parade

• 4800 Grand Ave S
• 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
• Gather at the big Washburn High School Parking lot at around 9:30 am and join the parade as it makes its way to Fuller Park. At the park, enjoy live music, food trucks, classic sno cones, and inflatables and balloon art for the kids!

Where to See 4th of July Parades and Fireworks Displays in 2022

Naperville Salute and 4th of July Fireworks Display
July 1 – 4, 2022 | times vary
Naperville will be hosting their Naperville Salute event at both Rotary Hill and Frontier Park. Festivities at Rotary Hill will take place in July 2 and 3, and include local bands, family fun, and food. Check their website for the full schedule. Fireworks will be at Frontier Park at dusk on July 3. You can watch from Frontier Park, or at nearby Neuqua Valley High School.

Carol Stream’s 4th of July Parade

Celebrate the 4th of July with this long-standing Carol Stream tradition.

Independence Day Extravaganza in Lemont
July 3, 2022 | 4:00pm – 10:00pm
Live music, Kid Zone, food vendors and more will all be at Centennial Park before the fireworks begin at dusk.

Romeoville Fireworks

Romeoville is doing three simultaneous fireworks displays on July 3, designed to allow residents to stay home and see the fireworks. The locations of each show are Lukancic Middle School, Volunteer Park, and Discovery Park.

Lisle Fireworks

Bring your blankets and lawn chairs to Community Park for a fireworks show that will last approximately 25 mintues. The Village of Lisle website has parking suggestions.

Wheaton Independence Day Celebration Fireworks and Parade

Once darkness falls on July 3, enjoy a great fireworks display over Graf Park. The annual parade through the streets of downtown Wheaton steps off at 10:00am on July 4.

Yorkville Parade and Fireworks
July 4, 2022 | all day
The Yorkville 4th of July Parade will kick off at 9:00am. The parade route is posted on their website. Following the parade, the town square will be host of various activities, running until 1:00pm. The fireworks show will take place at dusk, near the corner of Route 47 and Countryside Parkway.

St. Charles July 4th Celebration and Fireworks – CANCELLED

Pottawatomie Park will open for people to picnic, swim, and lay mini golf. Music will begin at 6:00pm, and fireworks display kicks off at dusk.

Elgin’s annual parade returns in 2022 in the morning, along with the evening festivities at Festival Park, culminating with a firework display around 9:20pm.

Darien Lion’s 4th of July Parade

Darien’s 51st annual Independence Day Parade starts at 75th and Cass, then proceeds north on Cass Avenue to 71st Street. The parade heads east to Clarendon Hills Road, then south where it ends at Hinsdale South High School.

Lisle Independence Day Parade

Hinsdale’s Fourth of July Parade and Festivities

The parade is following a new route this year. More details can be found on their Facebook page. The post-parade festivities are returning to Burlington Park in 2022.

Brookfield 4th of July Parade and Party in the Park

The parade kicks off at 10am at Garfield and Grand and ends at Village Hall. Then head to Kiwanis Park for live music. Feel free to bring food!
