Friday, July 2: 16 Candles Concert in the Metra Lot Show Friday, July 2: Fireworks (note date change!) Saturday, July 3: Parade (No Fitness Run or Brat Tent) Save the dates for Fourth of July in Barrington! This is an unusual year for many reasons, one of which is that the Fourth falls on a Sunday. As such, our Independence Day events will be held on Friday and Saturday nights of July 4th weekend. We had originally communicated that the fireworks would be held on Saturday evening, July 3, but due to a vendor circumstance beyond our control, the fireworks date had to be changed to Friday evening, July 2. Please note the change on your calendars! The weekend begins on Friday night, July 2, with a Concert in the Metra Lot featuring the ever-popular ’80s cover band Sixteen Candles from 7:00-9:00 p.m. The fireworks will be held following the concert; you’ll have time to walk or drive into town for a better view if you like! There will be no Good Shepherd Fitness Run this year (come back in 2022!). On Saturday, July 3, the annual Fourth of July parade will begin at 10:00 a.m. and run from Barrington High School to the Metra Lot. We will communicate Covid guidelines as the date draws closer. There will be no Brat Tent this Fourth (It has been moved to fall). Back by popular demand, the Chris Walz Bluegrass Players will be back for a concert at Barrington’s White House immediately following the parade.  Date and time

The parade steps off at 10AM on Monday, July 4 from Barrington High School down Main Street to the Barrington Metra Lot. Not-for-profit entry fee: $50 Business entry fee: $150 General Parade Policies: 1. ABSOLUTELY NO THROWING CANDY OR ANY ITEMS OF ANY KIND FROM VEHICLES OR PARTICIPANTS. Violators are subject to having their items confiscated or removed from the Parade. 2. All Parade drivers must provide proof of a valid driver’s license upon request. 3. All Parade vehicles must provide proof of current automobile insurance upon request. Any vehicle not insured will not be allowed to participate in the Parade. 4. For safety reasons, trampolines are prohibited from the Parade. 5. No water guns or sprayers are permitted along the Parade route. All such items will be confiscated. 6. The height of an entry must not exceed 13 feet 6 inches (to avoid overhead wires). 7. The width of the entry must not exceed 8 feet 6 inches. 8. The overall length of the transporting vehicle and float should not exceed 65 feet in length. All floats should have a skirt to cover the wheels within the bounds of safety. 9. Entrants and all Parade participants must act at all times in accordance with Illinois statutes and all ordinances of the Village of Barrington. 10. Any request made by an officer, official, employee or agent of the Village of Barrington to comply with these policies must be obeyed at all times and refusal to obey such requests may result in the removal of entrants from the Parade. 11. The Village of Barrington assumes no responsibility or liability in the event of injury or accident. 12. All forms must be received by June 24, 2022 and applications are approved on a first-come first-served basis. In order to have a reasonable parade length, we reserve the right to limit the number of entrants and/or number of participants per entry. Tags
