They will review legislative, administrative, and judicial events impacting health plans, with a particular focus on Medicare Advantage, while forecasting the major health issues to be debated leading into the 2022 elections. Amy Mushahwar will present the panel “To Ransomware and Beyond: the History and Future of Healthcare Cyberattacks”. She will discuss the history of cyber attacks against healthcare, the attacker’s motivation and where the industry is going. Peter Swire will lead the panel “Use and Collection of Racial, Ethnic, and Language Data”. He will focus on the legal and regulatory risks relating to the collection and use of race, ethnicity, and language data and how BCBS is leveraging such data presently and its plan to do so in the future.
