I love these Vilnius Divine Mercy Holy Cards with How to Pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet on the back. Since we know the Vilnius version of the Divine Mercy is the only one that Saint Faustina saw and spent so much time having the artist get it right for Jesus, I wish it was the only image offered for sale. All the others are imposters. Thank you for making the Vilnius version available. I also have the Nelson Art framed image of the Vilnius version. And, it would be nice to have a business card size that would fit in wallets.
    Thank you!

Description

February 22, 1931 “By means of this Image I shall be granting many graces to souls; so let every soul have access to it.” Jesus to Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska (Diary entry 570)

This prayer card for “Difficult Moments” depicts the image of Jesus, The Divine Mercy, the only one painted by Eugene Kazimirowski in Vilnius (presently, Lithuania) in 1934 under the direction of Saint Faustina Kowalska. It was venerated publicly for the first time on April 26, 1935, during the closing celebration of the Jubilee of Redemption at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Dawn Gate.

In 1937 the Image was placed in St. Michael’s Church, and it remained there until 1948 when the church was closed by the Communist government. A journey of hiding then took place until 1956, when it was enshrined in the Church of Nova Ruda (Belarus). There it remained until 1986 in spite of the fact that the church was closed in 1970 and provided a very poor physical environment for the painting. In 1986 the image was secretly removed again and brought to the Holy Spirit Church in Vilnius, Lithuania. I 1991, on account of damages sustained, the painting was retouched by a local artist, but the face lost its original appearance in the process. Under the guidance of Cardinal Backis the image was professionally restored in May, 2003, and for the time being it will continue to be venerated in Holy Spirit Church, Vilnius.

Special feature:

Accented with the signature Jesus, I Trust In You in a gold ribbon setting. Printed gold frame edge.

  • Click on the image above to view the following:
  • A Prayer for Difficult Moments ~ Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is Love and Mercy itself. [Amen.] (Diary of St. Faustina, 950)
  • The Chaplet of Divine Mercy (for recitation on ordinary rosary beads)
    Begin with:
Our Father…, Hail Mary…, The Creed.
On the five Our Father beads:
Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.
On the ten Hail Mary beads:
For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
    Conclude with:
Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world. (Three times.)
  • By saying the chaplet you are bringing
humankind closer to Me. (Diary, 929)

Evangelization tool:

Jesus told St. Faustina, “By means of this image I shall be granting many graces to souls; so, let every soul have access to it “ (Diary, 570). Help souls have access to the graces the Lord promises by distributing holy cards of the Divine Mercy image.

A Prayer for Difficult Moments on the back side makes it a great spiritual gift for anyone, anywhere. Have the cards blessed and send them in birthday and Christmas cards, leave them with tips at restaurants or on a dresser or desk at a hotel, pin it on a cork board or on your computer monitor. The possibilities are endless. A great way to evangelize and be an apostle of mercy!

What happens when you pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy?

Jesus grants plentiful graces to those who pray the chaplet, and it appeases the wrath of God. When someone prays the Divine Mercy Chaplet for a dying person, especially a dying sinner, that person's soul will find peace, and their hour of death will be a happy one.

What is the main message of the Divine Mercy prayer?

Christ as The Divine Mercy instructs us to approach Him in prayer to ask for His mercy, to let His mercy flow from us to others, and above all, to trust completely in Him in order to truly experience the graces of His mercy.
