Keep in mind that the Salvation Army will not accept just any donated item; everything has to be in good condition. The Salvation Army will not accept any items that it knows it can’t sell. Here's a list of restricted items:

  • Baby items, including toys, car seats, and high chairs

  • TVs, including tube, console, and projection TVs

  • Old entertainment centers and TV armoires

  • Various desks, such as metal, school, and office desks

  • Appliances that are older than 10 years

  • Built-in appliances, including ovens and dishwashers

  • Mattresses and box springs (with tears, holes, structural damage, or stains)

  • Furniture that has rips, broken pieces, stains, odors, and pet hair on them
