Almost finished my reread of The Cruel Prince and I FINALLY got to drawing this scene 😍 I used another favourite couple, Damon and Elena from TVD, as a reference, so if Jude looks a bit like Nina Dobrev... That's why 😅

I posted this on instagram without the trees on her dress but because of the cursed algorithm I'm not fixing it 🙄

Deleted scene from The Queen of Nothing with Jude and Cardan 💕

Queen of Nothing 100% should have ended like this. It ties all the themes of the book together so nicely and I really don't think we got a moment of Jude realizing what she's accomplished and what this alliance means for her. I also feel like this scene circles back to where we first met Jude, in The Cruel Prince, and shows her character growth -- how her goals and desires have changed. She started out telling us that in her heart, she wished to best Cardan and all the folk. Technically, she achieved that. But she ended up doing something much bigger at the same time. Something I don't think Jude would ever have imagined genuinely wanting. I think we needed this scene to fully appreciate the story, I know I did, and I really do feel like this scene adds so much depth and realness to the characters that we didn't get from the pizza party.

So I’m in a lovely little group on Facebook for The Folk of The Air fans and one of those amazing ladies was kind enough to post Cardan’s letters from the Queen of Nothing Barnes and Noble edition. According to Holly these should be read after the book however I just couldn’t help myself. I’m posting them here in case you’re also like me and have no self control. I haven’t actually read any of Queen of Nothing yet but these letters made my heart ache.
