The pet store can be the happiest place in the world for a pooch.

So, it's no surprise that when it comes time to leave such a place, not all pups are so willing to head home, such as Chicago golden retriever Rufio, who adorably avoided heading out the door in a sweet new viral video.

The two-year-old dog, who is a certified therapy dog with his own sizable Instagram following, was recently filmed doing his all to keep from leaving the pet store.

Not yet! An adorable new video shows golden retriever Rufio refusing to leave a pet store

The short clip, posted last month, shows Rufio lying on the store's floor, being pulled along by his harness and leash.

Clearly, the pup was having such a good time shopping that he simply didn't want it to end - and put up a defense in the best way he knew how.

He licks his chops as he is pulled closer to the door, but eventually lays his head down on the floor in defiance.

Laying down: The dog is seen being dragged along the ground to the door by his owner

Refusal! He puts his head down on the store's floor and looks up defiantly at his owner

He writhes around on the floor, stretching out his paws as if to get himself comfortable for a long nap.

He then lays still for a moment and casts a side-eye towards his insistent owner.

'It's time to go Rufio!' she says, gently tugging on the leash once again.

Throwing a fit: After his owner insists that it's time to go, Rufio rolls onto his back in another show of protest

Not happening: The video has been viewed more than 400,000 times on Instagram

But he simply is not giving up that easy, rolling himself onto his back with his paws up in the air.

He looks towards his owner with big, pleading eyes as if to say: 'Just five more minutes!'

The video has been viewed more than 400,000 times on Instagram in three weeks, clearly proving popular with the dog's whopping 160,000 followers.

What a puppy tantrum looks like?

A clearly identifiable sign of a puppy temper tantrum is when they begin to bark and growl. They do this to express some kind of displeasure over what they are currently experiencing.

How do you deal with a temper tantrum in a puppy?

If the pup is throwing a tantrum, continue holding onto to the puppy as calmly and quietly as possible, holding one hand on the chest and you can even slip a finger through the bottom or the collar - and the other on the back of the collar which may help prevent you being bitten.

Are Golden Retrievers aggressive as puppies?

Normally, golden retrievers are gentle, sweet, loyal dogs. However, like all dogs, there is a possibility of them becoming aggressive. In some cases, aggression can be fixed through training, while in other cases, different solutions may need to be employed (careful management, medicine, rehoming, etc.).
