Cleanliness, amenities Disliked: Property conditions & facilities Overall our stay at Holiday Inn Orchard was fine. It could have been fantastic. It's way past time for a renovation/refurbishment (but make sure you close off areas that are being remodelled - the paint fumes around us weren't great). I also understand that when you offer free breakfast to encourage bookings you will get a lot of
guests coming at busy periods. There's a way of asking guests not to linger but to bluntly tell people "There's a 40 minute maximum stay for breakfast" is not particularly friendly. We couldn't wait to get away from breakfast because of the cramped and noisy surroundings. One last issue which was resolved was the late servicing of rooms. We were there for four days and it seems the cleaning staff are overburdened. On one day we had returned from a full day away to find that the room had not been
serviced - we really only wanted towels. I understand the priority to service vacated rooms, but by not being able to service occupied rooms by 4/5pm is not really good for ongoing guests. This could be a great hotel - excellent location, good staff (although some need subtlety training) and with refurbishment I'd stay here again. is tired, rooms look like they’ve seen better days. Cleaning only takes place every other day and the breakfast choice is poor. Much better options in Singapore, many of which cost less.
