How long do I need the SR-22 insurance filing/proof of insurance?If you were suspended for a Motor Vehicle Accident Judgment (Missouri or Out-of-State), you must maintain insurance on file with the Driver License Bureau for two years from the starting date of the suspension. If you were suspended for False Insurance or Mandatory Insurance, you must maintain insurance on file with the Driver License Bureau for three years from the date you were eligible to reinstate. How long do you have to have SRThe DOL can require the SR-22 certificate to be on file for up to three (3) years. It is imperative that you do not cancel your policy or allow it to lapse during the three-year requirement.
How long is SRA SR-22 can be required for a total of 5 years from your date of suspension. If the SR-22 is filed for a total of 3 years (36 months) within the 5-year period, the SR-22 may be cancelled provided it is not required on any other suspension.
