be prompted to enable access to your Android device's messages, but if you choose not to do so at that point, you can always turn it on later in the Phone Link app settings. To do this, open the Phone Link app, go to Settings > Features > Messages and turn on the toggles for: Allow this app to show text messages from my phone Allow this app to send MMS attachments from my phone Allow this app to receive MMS attachments from my phone Automatically download MMS attachments from my phone You can also manage your notifications and alerts for messages by turning on the other toggles in the list: Show notification banners Badge on taskbar If you encounter issues with messages, our troubleshooting tips may help.

If some SMS messages cannot be received
- Check whether the phone number has been saved to
PrivateSpace
Open Settings, search for and access PrivateSpace, and open Messaging.
If messages from certain contacts can be found, move them to MainSpace and try again. To do so, perform the following:
In PrivateSpace, go to , and touch PrivateSpace to MainSpace.
- Select the contacts and follow the onscreen instructions to move them.
- Go to , and check
whether the contacts have been added to Blocklist.
Remove the corresponding number from Blocklist and try again.
3. To receive messages from unknown numbers, go to to stop blocking unknown numbers.
- EMUI 5.X and 8.X: Go to >

- EMUI 9.0: Go to >Block strangers.
- EMUI 10.X & Magic UI 3.X: Go to > Block unknown numbers.
4. Check whether you are using a third-party phone management app to block messages.
Some phone management apps may block certain SMS messages for security purposes. It is recommended that you uninstall these apps.
5. Check whether your phone only fails to receive SMS messages from iPhones.
If your phone can't receive SMS messages sent from iPhones, but does receive SMS messages from other phone brands, this may be because your phone number was previously linked to an iPhone. The other party may be sending you an iMessage instead of an SMS message. In this case, unlink your phone number from the iPhone by referring to the instructions on the Apple website.
If all SMS messages cannot be received
1. Enable and then disable Airplane mode, then try again.
2. If VoLTE is enabled on your SIM card, open Settings, search for VoLTE, and disable VoLTE HD calls.
3. Third-party SMS messaging apps may have compatibility issues. If you are using a third-party messaging app, open Settings, search for and access Default apps, and set Messaging to Default.
4. Install the SIM card you are using into another working phone. If the issue persists, contact your carrier for assistance.
If the issue persists
1. Restore the Messaging app to its default settings
2. Clear the data and cache of the Messages app. (Your SMS messages will not be deleted.)
Open Settings, search for Apps, and find Messages. Go to .
3. Reset network settings
Open Settings, search for and access Reset network settings, reset the network settings of your phone (this will delete your Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connection records), and try again.
Note: This will only reset the Wi-Fi, mobile data, and Bluetooth settings, and will not delete any data or files.
4. Back up important data, and touch Reset phone.
Open Settings, search for and access Reset phone, and touch Reset phone.
Note: Restoring your phone to its factory settings will delete all data in the internal storage of your device, such as account information, app data and system and settings, installed apps, and files.

If the issue persists, back up your data and take your device and proof of purchase to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Centerfor assistance.
