The following are the types of fees you may need to pay when applying for a passport. Acceptance Agent FeeWhen applying for a New Passport, Child Passport or applying for a Lost or a Stolen passport you will be required to not sign your application form. You will be required to schedule an appointment at an Acceptance Agent Facility nearest to you. The Agent will then examine all the documents you are required to submit for the application process and verify the applicant’s identity. Once everything has been confirmed, the Acceptance Agent will ask the applicant to sign the application form and act as a witness to the event. Application FeeThis is the mandatory fee charged by the US government for the application process of passports. It is directly paid to the U.S. Department of State. Do not confuse this with the execution fee as they are both different. A total of two separate payments are required to be made; one to the Acceptance Agent facility and the other to the U.S. Department of State.
