How much to give for confirmation gift 2023

Looking for suggestions for a Confirmation gift for my daughter receiving her Confirmation this year as well as a gift for her sponsor, who's also her grandfather.
Was thinking money clip? cross engraved? unsure what to do or say...

Yes, her Confirmation saint medal on a necklace for herself. Other ideas you have sound fine for grandpa.

My daughter picked out a pearl ring for her confirmation. (it is also her birthstone). I still have the pearl ring I got from my parents for my confirmation.

My parents gave me a beautiful crucifix from Spain that I still have hanging in my room 47 years later. I love the crucifix for itself because it's a style of art I really admire, but it also reminds me of my wonderful and devout parents who are no longer with me. Our immediate family went out for a nice dinner after the Mass. (Parties for Confirmation were not very common in our area back then.) I remember receiving cash from other family members (grandparents/godparents/aunts & uncles, etc). No other gifts other than cash do I recall.

I usually browse our local religious store. I got some nice little engraved pieces of marble-looking rock that have Philippians 4:13 on them (I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.) I gave them to my D's and nieces.

Saint necklace and meaningful, personalized rosaries are traditional gifts by us. Any type of jewelry is a nice gift~ there are lots of pretty cross necklaces, bracelets, etc. that are popular now. Mariana has really pretty guardian angel necklaces that are perfect for the occasion. Alex and Ani bracelets as well. Money and gift cards from friends and family are often given here too. A Shutterfly (or similar company) book of photos to remember the special day is a nice gift for both your DD and her grandfather. I think the most special for her sponsor would be a handwritten, heartfelt card/letter from your DD in addition to a small gift. It's a special day for sure! Best wishes!

A friend of mine started a charm bracelet. She got a lovely religious charm from James Avery that she had engraved with the confirmation date. Her daughter is now a married woman. Her charm bracelet is getting full and she wears it a lot. She got her sponsor either a bookmark or key ring from James Avery. I can't remember which. They have beautiful, classic religious jewelry and accessories for men and women.

I got the best gift of all from my parents- the deal/gift was if I made my confirmation (which in their religion was 4th grade) then they would not force me to go to church anymore- other than that people gave me cash.

My parents gave me a nice chunk of cash, as did many of my relatives. Can't say I was disappointed

A nice bible, maybe one with a leather cover.
A crucifix, saint medal or 4 way
A crucifix for the wall, maybe one large enough to take with them when they move out and into an apartment.
A saint book. I like, "Lives of the Saints"
A catechism, or depending on the age a YouCat
A nice rosary, with real gemstones or with sterling silver.

I generally recommend a simple thank you card for the sponsor. If you go with a gift for the sponsor, go with something small.

I like to get a nice crucifix. A more "adult" one, as opposed to some of the more childlike ones that are available. Think of something they can take with them throughout their life.

If the person is Irish, I get a Celtic cross in pewter or a nice wood.

My favorite confirmation gift was a beautiful bracelet that has no religious significance. As someone who no longer practices Catholicism, it's a nice reminder of that time but I don't feel uncomfortable wearing it.

I'm telling you not a bible or a rosary....most by now have been baptized and had their First Communion and probably got a lot of those things. I like the jewelry idea because they can wear it and it won't sit on a self or drawer after opening. St Christopher medal on a chain is nice too ...it is the protector saint .

Money clip sounds nice , again something that can be used. But to be truthful I don't think I got the sponsers anything. Maybe a picture of the two of them from that day in a nice frame. Get the frame and say you will supply a picture later. I'm sure they were thanked though. It's your daughter's day.

As for the gifts, I love your ideas - as for the cash ... well, i'm not giving my daughter cash nor her sponsor lmao!! If i was going to a Confirmation, I would consider cash, but not for my own child

I will look into crucifix's and a small token for her sponsor, who's also her grandfather. I wanted to have something engraved that he can
put on his desk at home - he lives in Florida - we live in NY and she's very close to him... Something with a cross and the date, etc...
I was going to put her name and confirmation name with the date of the ceremony ... this way he has a remembrance for his desk area.... even if just a pen.

As for my daughter, we are Irish - her father is from Carlow, Ireland, and would be a great item for her to remember and take with her wherever she goes and into her apartment, sooner or later lmao

My daughter chose the same name! She makes her confirmation in May! I haven't decided what to get her because she isn't a big jewelry wearer and she has a lot of religious items from communion. I may not get her anything religious.

As for the sponsor gift I'm torn on that too since it's her cousin so she is 18. For you since it's her grandfather maybe a nice picture framed of the both of them? You can try Things Remembered or Etsy if you wanted to do something engraved.
