How soon after unprotected can i test for pregnancy reddit

We had unprotected sex everyday from December 21 to 28. This was my fertile window as per my Flo app. Supposedly ovulation would have been on December 26, but I've never done a test to confirm that.

I've "felt pregnant" the last week and a half. Heavy boobs, sensitive nipples, light cramping, tiredness, and nausea (afternoon and evening). My period was due January 10. Today is January 14. This morning with first pee of the day I got a clearly positive pregnancy test.

I'm super excited but is this too early to get a correct reading? What about chemical pregnancies?

I'm calling my doctor tomorrow morning to set up a blood test.

Thank you in advance for your help! You are beautiful.

First of all, thank you for replying.

Her cycle is usually 30 to 35 days (mostly 32, 33 days), so the '21 days after' test we took is on her CD30, still going to take another test on CD35 (25 days after the incident).

About her period, she does not have it yet (it would still be normal if she did not took plan B though), but I know that plan B usually mess up your cycle quite a bit and given the fact that she has withdrawal bleeding 5 days after taking the pill, which is on her CD14 makes it really hard to know when should her period is considered missed...

Anyway, thankyou for the kind words. Obviously we had learned our lesson and will definitely use reliable BC method in the future. Right now we just hoping that the result is accurate enough, though I'm still quite scared :(.

The general rule is to take a test at 3 weeks, which for me will be Dec 4th. So I will wait 2 more weeks. However, I have seen on this reddit page and others that 3 weeks is a definitive accurate test. If it is negative at 3 weeks your good. However, I had a friend that was trying to get pregnant. And she missed a period and she was taking test that were all coming back negative. She took a test week later and it was positive. She got her dating ultrasound and turns out she was like 7-8 weeks along. And she tested at 5 weeks and her at home test was still negative. It didn't turn positive until week 6.

So can I trust a test at 3 weeks or should I test starting at 3 weeks for a few weeks to be sure?

I really wish I could test now because my anxiety is not handling it well, but know I can't.

What is the verdict? Did you test negative again?

Hey! I’m happy everything worked out good for you. Did your bf finish inside of you or was it the pull out? I’m having a pregnancy scare myself rn :( and I tested 11 days after the incident and it’s killing me to have to wait a couple more days to test again :/

Whether or not you've missed your period, tests taken 13 days after sex are generally going to be accurate. However, digital tests are less sensitive than dye tests and can sometimes take a few more days. If finances are preventing you from testing again, tests are available for less than a dollar at Walmart or dollar stores and they are as accurate and sensitive as any name brand dye test. I would try again just to be sure.

im from the uk so i don’t have a walmart, but ill try looking for a dye test. thanks

If pregnant, a pregnancy test will show positive between 8-14 days after sex. The range depends on when you had sex in relation to ovulation and how long after ovulation it took the embryo to implant. So at 13 days after sex, it’s hard to say for sure. It’s very possible you are not pregnant, but there’s also a small chance that you could be pregnant and the test was taken too early. Also the digital tests are not as sensitive as First Response Tests. If your period doesn’t come by the time you can buy another test, then definitely get a test then and it will be accurate at that point, whether it be positive or negative.

are the first response one step tests accurate then? ill go to a store tomorrow and get some

How soon after unprotected can I test for pregnancy?

You can carry out most pregnancy tests from the first day of a missed period. If you don't know when your next period is due, do the test at least 21 days after you last had unprotected sex. Some very sensitive pregnancy tests can be used even before you miss a period.

Can pregnancy be detected at 3 days?

How soon can a person take a test? A pregnancy test will not show positive as soon as a person becomes pregnant. It takes time for the body to release enough of the hormone human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) to show up on a test. This will be around 12–15 days after ovulation if a person has a 28-day cycle.

How long after a guy comes in you can you take a pregnancy test Reddit?

A pregnancy test measures your HCG levels. For a woman taking a urinary pregnancy test, it is best to take the test 12-14 days after sex.

Can I get a positive test at 4 days?

The earliest you can get a positive result on the most sensitive pregnancy tests is 3-4 days after implantation, 11-12 days after ovulation/fertilization or about 2 days prior to your next period. But the majority of home pregnancy tests will not be positive until you miss a period.
