We’ll now look at the nutritional comparison. Because Fiber One and Original Cheerios have slightly different serving sizes, I’ll also be comparing them per 100g to make sure the data is accurate.

To confirm, the brands and products that I’m comparing are Fiber One Original Breakfast Cereal and Original Cheerios, which are both manufactured by General Mills.

If you’re tracking your daily calorie consumption, the better option of the two kinds of cereal we’re comparing is Fiber One, which contains 134 fewer calories per 100g than Original Cheerios.

Fiber One Cereal doesn’t contain any sugar because Sucralose is used as a sweetener instead. Based on this information, if you’re looking to cut out sugar in your diet, then of the two, Fiber one is the better option compared to Cheerios.

However, it’s important to know that compared to some other breakfast cereal options, Original Cheerios are relatively low in sugar, with only 2g per serving.

Fiber One and Original Cheerios are sold in different box sizes, so to get an accurate cost comparison, I’ve compared them per ounce of cereal.

Below are the current prices of each cereal:

  • Fiber One 19.6 box = $4.18 / $0.21 per ounce
  • Original Cheerios 18oz box = $3.98 / 22¢ per ounce
  • Original Cheerios 21.7oz box = $5.48 / 25¢ per ounce
