Need more info to redeem gift card

Heya,

So bought a google play gift card today for my cousin. Tried to redeem and it says that I need to give more info. I got onto chat with a google customer service dude and he said that it can only be redeemed to my own personal gmail account... I already scratched the code so cant return but its not used or anything and google support basically just said sorry our bad.

Any ideas of how to fix this issue? Thank you all!

Just went thru this hell for 5 months and then they finally said that the card had been credited to an account that is not mine. I literally bought the card at the grocery store, walked directly home, scratched off the card panel and tried to add it to my account. They now tell me that I have to seek resolution with the grocery store....after 5 months.

I hope your case is sorted out soon but personally, Google Play can suck a poxed dick.

Same for me. It's been about 3 months. Bought at a grocery store as well. I've sent them all the info that they have asked for 4 separate times so far.

I filled out a form and they said that it wasn’t nothing in there. Then i called them yesterday and they told me to fill out a form, which I was arguing because I felt like they were trying to give me the run around. But they actually gave me an email the SAME day, that it was unlocked. So just call them and fill out the forms, do wht they say and don’t argue.

My little brother got a gift card for Google play 10 pounds (we live in UK) and this shit says after I'm trying to redem it on his phone "we need more info to redeem your gift card" now idk if its something to do with his email but he just wants a fucking game like why this bullshit he bought it with his own money.

I just spent$80 on two Google play cards both say need more information I lodged my complaint with Google play team members only to be told my cards are not redeemable what a rip off I've been buying these cards for years never had a problem until now anyone else had same

So, i just got this weirdness. I bought the code through Paypal ( for some reason they offered Google Play Cards ).

Got the eMail, opened it, put the code in. Aaaand it didn't work and i got this message.

Seems unlikely that someone managed to somehow put the code in before me.

This smells borderline scammy by either Paypal or Google. Why not both ?

I filled out the form and they sent me some bullshit about how the card is not elegible to redeem or something is wrong with my account, so I basically got scammed out of $15 like what the fuck, this isn't acceptable.

Not much better, unfortunately, I redeemed an Apple gift card and tried to redeem it and... they locked my account under the suspicion of "fraud".
