The first thing you should know is that EA said that this feature would be exclusive for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One users and PC users could not enjoy this.

More directly to know how to play first you will have to go to the menu and connect the second controller, once connected you will have to press and hold the square button or X to activate the second player.

There should be a separate profile so that the second player can log in, keep in mind that the first player will have done it before and the second will also have to log in because no guest player is allowed.

In case your friend does not have one, you will have to go to the main menu to create it by filling in all the data requested by the platform. Once the profile is created, they will be able to advance and you will be able to cancel the error of "there is no space in the group".

What remains is to access any mode in which they want to play and start playing.

We hope that our guide on how to play with a screen divided into Plants Vs. Zombies Battle for Neighborville has been useful for you to share some time with your friends in this excellent title.

Does anyone know how to choose split screen co-op?

    mettlegear 3 years ago#2

It will tell you to hold down the square button on second controller. But apparently it won't let you use a guest account...it has to be someone with an actual PSN account, which upsets me because I wanted to let my kids play as guest for co-op. Pretty sure GW2 let you use a guest account for co-op.

Ok, I figured it out. You do have to sign in w/ another PSN account but don’t have to pay anything. I created one with a different email. Press square to join in game. After that, you have to create a free EA account. Do all that and you’re good. Me and my son are playing split screen & are having a blast.

I can't launch the game with another profile, it says I have to purchase a license to do so...pressing square in game says "this feature does not support this feature"

I could get it to not do that, but now it says can’t connect to ea servers.

    Hi Everyone,

I have an answer for the split screen coop issue. When you load into your base you go to the world map and you can select 3 types of play,
    1- Online co op
    2- Offline No AI
    3- Offline with AI

If you want to play with your child/friend locally and with only one PS plus/EA access account you need to select either of the offline options, your friend will need a separate ps login account and also EA account (both free to sign up) and play with Giddy Park, and the other two available areas (sorry cant think of their names, portals for both can be found within your home base) this however will not let you play in the online multiplayer portal.

I havnt tried signing up with a guest account as i already had my sons PS account set up, i just needed to sign him up to EA.

If you and your friend want to online multiplayer split screen, both of you will require an active PS Plus account.

sorry i forgot to add that the second player acan only join after the offline world mode has been selected. it will prompt you to refresh your play instance.

wait so do i need ps plus to play offline local coop?

Playing with a guest account works split screen. But It doesnt save any of that players progress obviously. And only offline which is fine. Easier than using his account because I dont want to sign my 9 year old up for EA access and have to deal with parental controls.
