PICC drsg for sensitive skin

We have a young paraplegic with a new PICC who states his skin is sensitive to tape/Tegaderm . Asking me to change the very occlusive drsg ( we have on a SorbaView now ) because he says it is itchy under the white edges of the drsg that is not visible. No obvious rash or inflammation. The MD increased his dose of Benadryl to Q4 hours, he says he is willing to try to see if that helps.  24 hour dressing was done yesterday by IV CRNI. He says last year he had a PICC at another facility and skin got so irritated it was " weeping " and no tape would stick. " Took PICC out & put it in other arm" I explained every time drsg is removed we have to wash with Chloraprep-peeling occlusive drsg off will irritate more. He says Nurse Manager of the floor told him maybe we could" cover with gauze and wrap with Kerlex" .But then staff couldn"t visualize site for assessment ?? And if it was gauze we would have to change daily and CLEANSE correct ??? Been doing this over 20 years but I'm stumped. What can we do to keep the pt happy, skin in good shape, and prevent CRBSI ?? Thank You  Patti W.

1.0 out of 5 stars Less than one year left prior to expiration, yellowed from age?
Reviewed in the United States on February 19, 2021

I had some outpatient surgery and the hospital provided a couple of these. They work well so I ordered more from Amazon. The box I received has less than 12 months to expiration. The ones from the hospital have 2.5+ years left, so these are not "brand new". The ones I received from amazon are also yellowed, I suspect from age. It looks like they are selling stock that is getting close to the expiration, which explains the good price. Attached is a picture comparing the one I received from the hospital (left) and the one that I received from Amazon (right). The "older" patches that I received from Amazon do not adhere as well as the "newer" ones from the hospital.

I suffer with the most painful disease known to medical science. I am prescribed the Fentanyl Patch and before using the Tegraderm film coverings I was having issues of the Fentanyl Patch coming off and because of such strict laws when the Fentanyl Patch comes off they will not replace it. Since I began using these film coverings I no longer have any worries with keeping my pain relieving priceless patch on my skin any longer.

I’m giving this item 5 stars because I’m grateful I found it on Amazon for this price. every other retailer says they carry this item or something similar but it’s either not true or the price is wild. The size of the adhesive for my personal use is relatively small I need 3 to 4 to cover my wound but 100 of them for 27 bucks is a great price. Walmart had a 10 piece for 20 bucks near me. It can handle water but it will loosen up. I am using 3 patches in the picture I provided.

A friend needed a seal for his job of spray painting racks. His oxygen face mask was not tight enough to keep the particles out of his right eye which was showing signs of damage. This works perfectly. This protective seal does the job. He is very pleased and happy. He loves his job and thought he was going to have to quit. Not now!

I have purchased these over three years and I’m finding them to be old, yellowed and near to expiring. I now go through 2-5 yo get one to stay flat without the edges pulling up. I need to order them somewhere else.

These really stay put and prevent my medical patch from coming off. I highly recommend them. I was using surgical tape before. Wish I had found these sooner.

My husband had spinal surgery with a 12 inch incision. This was the only item large enough to cover his incision. Worked beautifully!

The transparent film is very sticky and stays attached to the skin without irritation. I am able to check my glucose without any problems and the monitor stays in my arm without moving.

I had to buy a few at my local pharmacy before I could get my order delivered. This pack of 20 was a great deal and they are the real thing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for freestyle libre sensors

Reviewed in the United Kingdom on February 22, 2018

Bought these after trying a number of different products. Before buying, 4 out of 4 sensors came off on average 5 days early. Since buying these, both sensors have stayed on the full 14 days and Ive had trouble getting them off! Highly recommend. In fact, Abbot should supply at least one of these with each sensor. Given they are 50 quid each I wouldnt think this out of the question.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for Libre sensor

Reviewed in the United Kingdom on July 22, 2019

Like most others who have reviewed this product, I bought these dressings to cover a freestyle libre sensor in hope of stopping things sticking to it and to help it stay stuck to my skn for the whole 14 days. I'd used this brand of dressing when in hospital so knew they were good quality, and was not disappointed. They are the perfect size for what I need them for, and I have also been cutting them up and using them to help my fentanyl patches stick better too. They're waterproof, and apart from occasionally coming ever so slightly unstuck around the edges, they don't move at all for the entire 14 days I have them on. If I do for some reason decide to change them before my sensor has finished, they come off without pulling it out, but adhere to the plastic and my skin so well that they wouldn't come off by themselves.

5.0 out of 5 stars Five Stars!

Reviewed in the United Kingdom on December 8, 2019

Perfect! I bought this as my husband as a Libre sensor as he is Type 1 Diabetic. The sensor never stays on for the full two weeks, and we needed something that would hold it on for that bit longer when you could see the stickiness on the Libre was starting to go. I bought these on a chance really, I wasn't sure if they would fit over the sensor, but for the price was willing to give it a try. They are very sticky, but aren't like plasters (like I imagined), they are more a clear sticky film. Peel the backing off, place over the top of the sensor and stick down. It did start to curl up at the edges after a few days, but stayed in place over the sensor, even after showers. If needed, just add another one over the top. The only thing that concerned me was as they were really sticky, if you tried to remove it early, it may take the sensor with it, so caution if you try that. Apart from that...great for libre users for a bit of extra adhesion!

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant for HRT patches

Reviewed in the United Kingdom on May 13, 2022

First time purchaser for this item. If you are having issues with HRT patches that don’t stick then these are a life saver. They keep the patch in place even in the shower. Will definitely get these again 👍
My only criticism is the size of the packaging that it came in. Ridiculous.
