Savage Arms model 101 in .22 long rifle with a single shot capacity and a 4″ barrel. These pistols were only made for 8 years. The Savage wood grip plates are in excellent condition with very little wear. The black frame is in very good condition with a few light surface scuffs and scratches. The cylinder does not turn and is in very good condition with light wear on the sharp edges. The barrel has a touch of holster wear and a few light scratches. The rifled bore is clean and the action is smooth. #2 6 years ago Coyde: The Savage Model 101 was made in the period 1960-1968. This revolver should have the Savage date code, which consists of a lightly stamped oval or 1/4" circle enclosing one or two numbers and a letter. The letter is the date of manufacture code (i.e. 1960 = L, 1961 = M, 1962 = N...1968 = V; "O" and "Q" are omitted). I have seen the date code stamped on the right side of the frame below the cylinder. Retail value for a gun in the condition shown would range from $125 to $175 depending on mechanical and bore condition.
