Families in Orange County have a wide variety of Summer Camps to choose from for their active youngsters. Whether you’re looking for a camp about horses or robotics, Legos or gymnastics, Orange County has something to suit all interests and abilities with camps for all ages from pre-k through 12th grade. Here is a list of some of the summer camps available in OC.

Note: Many programs have been modified with some cancelling their in-person summer camps and some still undecided. Please use the links to check with each program to find the latest updates.

ArtSteps

Location: Yorba Linda, Laguna Hills, and Costa Mesa, CA

ArtSteps has added online options for ages 8 and up including online cartooning, anime, portraiture, and monster clay creations. 

Weekly summer camps are offered at the Yorba Linda location for children ages 4-18. Focus is on fun for all artists, beginner to advanced.

Baseball Camps in OC

Villa Park High School Summer Youth Baseball Camp

Campers will spend the week learning foundational baseball skills including pitching, hitting, catching, base running, etc. Hosted by the VPHS Baseball Team and Head Coach Burt Call.

Bionerds

Bionerds classes are currently offered in person and online and are subject to change based on guidelines.

Highlights: Voted as best science camp for two years in a row, Bionerds is proud to be serving Orange County since 2015. Their summer season offers week-long summer camps, filled with hands-on biology activities. They offer Girl Scout programs that allow girl scouts to receive patches from them. Bionerds even offer after-school activities that encourage fun-learning even when their school day is over!

Brainbuilders Stem Education

Location: Laguna Niguel and Tustin

Highlights: This learning center enhances your child’s mind by incorporating excitement while learning. Their classes range from Forensics, Chemistry, Engineering, Robotics, Wood Shop, Digital Arts, Virtual Reality, Tutoring and more! Brainbuilders wants your child to keep the FUN in functional learning! The fun learning doesn’t have to stop when summer is over. Brainbuilders also offers after school and weekend enrichment classes.

Bricks 4 Kidz

Location: Anaheim, La Habra, Villa Park, Orange, Yorba Linda, Santa Ana College

Highlights: Bricks 4 Kidz is a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) learning program. They encourage children to use their creativity, design, construct and apply educational content that will help and develop skills for lifelong success. Their activities are designed to trigger your children’s imagination and build self confidence. They provide different levels of builds based off skill level and incorporate high-interest themes including Comic Creators, Space Adventures, Mining & Crafting, and more.

California Junior Lifeguard Camp

2022 camps scheduled to continue as planned.

Location: Newport Beach Back Bay & Salt Creek Beach
Ages: 5-12
Dates: Week long camps June 6 to August 19
Highlights: California Junior Lifeguards offer programs at the Newport Back Bay and Salt Creek Beach. One week and multi-week day camps run from 9-12, 9-1, or 9-3pm for children ages 5-12. This safe aquatic camp environment offers skilled instructors and a combination of aquatic and dry land activities designed to build physical endurance and coordination and improve overall confidence.  

Camp Cypress

Location: Cypress Community Center – 5700 Orange Ave, Cypress
Ages: 1st – 7th Grade
Dates & Times: Monday – Friday 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Highlights: Camp Cypress runs June 13 – August 12 for $143 per week per child. Each week has a unique theme with games, activities, arts and crafts, and special events. A part time summer camp program is offered for ages 5 – 12 on Tuesdays and Thursdays only from 1PM – 4PM for only $35 per week per child with a weekly visit from the Kona Ice Truck. Additional limited-time specialty and sports-themed camps are offered as well. Virtual summer camp programs are offered for those seeking online options.

Camp HB – Huntington Beach

Location: Murdy Park – 7000 Norma Drive, Huntington Beach
Ages: 6-12
Dates & Times: July – August 2022 from 8:30 am – 5:30 pm
Highlights: Camp HB campers will enjoy six fun-filled weeks at the newly renovated Murdy Park Community Center. Each week-long session incorporates a theme: Aloha week, Splash week, Adventure week, Safari week, Olympics week, and Under the Sea week. Cost is $175 per week, per camper.

Camp Heritage Oak

Location: Yorba Linda
Ages: Preschool – 8th grade
Dates & Time: June 20 – August 26, 2022; 9:00 – 4:00
Highlights: Let your kids let loose, explore and connect at Camp Heritage Oak. Every day at Camp Heritage will be something different, giving your kids the opportunity to learn new things in a fun and interactive way. Activities include Friday water play at the campus splash pad. The camp program features themed weeks around kid favorites like dinosaurs, science, jungle animals, the wild west, marine life, and more.

Camp Izza

Location: Irvine
Ages: 5-12
Dates & Time: June 27 – July 29, 2022; 9AM – 3PM
Highlights: Camp Izza provides an environment where children can thrive and express themselves. They encourage the children to make new friends along the way, making their time at Camp Izza more memorable and enjoyable. Some of the past activities include creating sidewalk art, going on treasure hunts, enjoying super sundaes, brain teaser challenges and so much more!

Camp James

Location: Newport Dunes
Dates: June 6 – August 12, 2022
Ages: 4-13
Highlights: Camp James is a traditional outdoor day camp for children ages 4-13. Camp James offers a variety of activities and opportunities for skill development. All activities take place on the Newport Dunes campgrounds. Groups are co-ed and according to age.

Camp Newport – Newport Beach

Location: Various parks, beaches and community centers in Newport Beach
Ages: Preschool – 17
Dates & Times: Week-long camps
Highlights: Camp Newport is run by the City of Newport’s Parks & Recreation department and there are a variety of themed and special interest camps. From science and sports to art and music, there is something every child will enjoy. Techies can expand their engineering and coding skills in a Brainstorm camp and animal lovers can explore life under the sea in the Ocean Adventure Program.

Camp Pinniped Summer Camp – Laguna Beach

Location: Pacific Marine Mammal Center – 20612 Laguna Canyon Road, Laguna Beach, CA 92651
Ages: 8-12
Dates & Times: Week-long camps run from July – August. Camp runs Monday – Thursday 9:00 – 3:00, and Friday from 8:30 – 11:00 at an offsite location.
Highlights: Campers at Camp Pinniped will go behind the scenes at the rehabilitation center and learn about the importance of care and conservation for marine mammals like seals and sea lions. They’ll get the opportunity to care for the animals by making fish smoothies, weighing fish, and cleaning pens. Campers’ learning will be reinforced through arts and crafts, games, science labs, and more. Daily themes offer a well-rounded exploration and education of the ocean environment.

Camp Venture

Location: Peralta Park – 115 N. Pinney Ave., Anaheim & Downtown Anaheim Youth Center – 225 S. Philadelphia St., Anaheim
Ages: 6-13
Dates & Times: Monday – Friday, June – August
Highlights: Weeklong summer camp programs with multiple weekly themes. Camp program includes crafts, games, science exploration, and sports. There is also a Teen Venture program available in three 3-week sessions for ages 13-16 available at Peralta Park.

Capistrano Acting Academy

Location: San Juan Capistrano
Ages: 6-16

Highlights: At Capistrano Acting Academy, they want their students to achieve all levels of artistry and performance. They want to make every child’s dream of becoming a performer possible. They offer high quality courses that include workshops for acting, comedy, improv and also summer theatre camps with performances and showcase events.

Catalina Island Overnight Camps

Location: Howlands Landing, Catalina Island
Ages: 1st Grade – 10th Grade
Dates & Times: June – August 2022
Highlights: Catalina Island Camps offer overnight camp experiences for campers in 1st through 10th grade. Sessions range from one week for the youngest campers to four weeks when you combine sessions. There is a Campers In Leadership Training Session for 10th graders. All campers will get the opportunity to learn and participate in many activities including diving, kayaking, stand up paddleboarding, sailing, archery, ropes courses, gardening, and more.

Culinary Kids

Location: Aliso Viejo, San Clemente
Ages: 6-14
Dates & Time: Programs available June through August, Monday – Friday 9AM-12PM or 1:30PM-4:30PM
Highlights: Culinary Kids inspires children to cook, create and collaborate in the kitchen. Your little chef will be given the essential cooking skills that will guide them to make mouthwatering and sensational kitchen masterpieces!

Environmental Nature Center Summer Programs – Newport Beach

Location: Environmental Nature Center – 1601 E. 16th Street, Newport Beach, CA
Ages: 4 to 13
Dates & Times: Weekly sessions from June-August; Camp is Monday through Thursday.
Highlights: The Environmental Nature Center hosts a variety of summer camps for kids. Little Naturalists Summer Camp and Summer Adventure Nature Camp will be held on site at the nature center with campers engaged in outdoor activities and learning scientific concepts with hands on activities, arts and crafts, games, stories and more.

Endless Sun Surf

Location: Laguna Beach
Ages: 6 and up
Dates & Times: Check website for details and to schedule your lessons (1.5 to 5 hour sessions)
Highlights: Endless Sun Surf was established in 1963 and is Newport Beach’s original surf school. Now located in Laguna, sessions will take place at Anita Street in Laguna Beach. Instructors are CPR-certified and are professional surfers that are excited to share their passion with their students. They encourage future students to book their lessons at least one day in advance.

Etnies Summer Skate Camp

Location: Etnies skate Park – 20028 Lake Forest Drive, Lake Forest
Ages: 5-17
Dates & Times: Monday – Friday 10AM – 2PM, June – August
Highlights: Weeklong summer skate camps available! Campers will get first hand instruction on the course plus design a custom t-shirt. There are a number of camp programs available and price varies.

Fairmont Summer Programs

Location: Anaheim Hills, Historic Anaheim, North Tustin, Preparatory Academy, San Juan Capistrano
Ages: Age 2-4 / Grades K-12th
Dates & Time: June 6 – August 5; Full and half days available
Highlights: Fairmont Summer Programs inspire young minds with adventures while learning at the same time. Their environment encourages kids to make friends, try new things and create memories that will last a lifetime. Fairmont wants to empower their students to become the best versions of themselves. They have a ACA-accredited camp and a line-up of enrichment courses that is catered to your child’s needs and family’s schedule.

Huntington Beach Junior Lifeguards

Location: Huntington City Beach Near Lifeguard Headquarters
Ages: 9-17
Dates & Times: June through August, Morning and Afternoon Sessions
Highlights: Huntington Beach Junior Lifeguard program emphasizes safety and fitness with ocean swimming, CPR, first Aid, and lifesaving methods. The 7-week program groups participants by age and ability. To join the guards program, tryouts are required. Students must be 9 to 17 years old and must be able to tread water for 5 minutes, swim 100 yards at or under one minute fifty seconds, and swim 10 yards without taking a breath.

Inside the Outdoors Summer Camp

Location: Shipley Nature Center – 17851 Goldenwest Street, Huntington Beach, CA 92647
Ages: 6 – 11
Dates & Times: July 5 – July 29, 2022; 9AM – 2PM (extended camp available from 2PM-4PM for a fee)
Highlights: The week-long summer camps are offered by the Orange County Department of Education in a partnership with Inside the Outdoors. Four weeks will be held at Shipley nature Center in Huntington Beach. Weekly themes for the outdoor, science-focused day camps are Campology, Adventures In The Wild, No Place Like Space, and Camp Castaway. Leadership opportunities are available for youth aged 12-17.

Irvine Ranch Outdoor Education Center

Location: 2 Irvine Park Road, Orange, CA 92869
Ages: 6-17
Dates & Times: June through August; 8AM to 4PM
Highlights: Summer camp programs at Irvine Ranch Outdoor Education Center give student the opportunity to embark on a variety of adventures and hands on activities that include STEM projects, rock climbing, ziplining, team building, archery, shooting swimming, and more. Multiple week-long sessions are available.

Irvine Summer Camp

Location: Various locations throughout Irvine
Ages: 3-17
Dates & Times: June 6 – August 19
Highlights: The City of Irvine offers a long list of summer camp options for kids to keep them entertained all summer long. Choose from general activities like music and art to special interest camps like Jedi Engineering, acting, computer coding and much more. Choose from single week sessions or sign up for the whole summer! Half day and full day programs are available.

JP’s Surf Camp

Location: San Clemente
Ages: 6 and above
Dates & Times: June – July 2022 Monday-Friday, 9:00 – 12:00 & 1:00 – 4:00
JP’s Surf Camp has been proudly serving their community since 2001. This camp offers children and adults the opportunity to learn how to properly surf. Having a smaller class provides the students with more instructor to student attention, ensuring a safer environment to learn to surf.

LA Galaxy Soccer Camps

Location: Orange County Great Park; Lake Forest Sports Park; World Cup Soccer Fields
Ages: 6-16
Dates & Times: June through August
Highlights: LA Galaxy Youth summer camps are perfect for players of all skill levels. Development and elite programs are available during multiple sessions.

La Habra Active Summer Day Camp

Location: Veterans Hall – 209 N. Orange St. or La Habra Community Center – 101 W. La Habra Blvd.
Ages: 4-12
Dates & Times: June 6 – August 12, Monday – Friday 7 AM – 6 PM
Highlights: There are 10 weeks of summer fun with weekly themes, off-site excursions, movie days, and lots of activities to keep campers moving and having fun. Fee is $150 per week per camper and includes breakfast, lunch, and snacks.

Lake Forest Summer Camps

Location: Lake Forest Sports Park & Recreation Center – 28000 Rancho Parkway
Ages: 3-11
Dates & Times: June – August Monday – Friday (Program times vary)
Highlights: Weeklong summer camps available with full day schedules for ages 6-11 and half day schedules for ages 3-5. Includes traditional summer camp activities, games, crafts, and more. Additional specialty camps available for all ages.

Los Alamitos Summer Camp

Highlights: Spark a new interest or build a new skill with free Microsoft summer camps. Choose from options such as Cuisine from Around the World or how to start your own business. Themes include STEM, Coding, Gaming, exploring creativity with digital tools, bettering the community, a week at the museum, and around the world in five days.

Mission Viejo Summer Camps

Location: Various locations
Ages: 5-17

Highlights: The city of Mission Viejo offers a number of summer camps for local youth. Some programs are available for one week sessions, others like Summer Kids Factory, have full summer options. They offer everything from sports and theater, to art and science. Some of the exciting options available this year include LEGO building, spooky science, architecture, Jedi training, and improv comedy camp.

Oak Canyon Nature Center

Location: Oak Canyon Nature Center – 6700 E. Walnut Canyon Rd., Anaheim
Ages: 5-12

Highlights: Campers will be immersed in nature play and science exploration and lots of outdoor fun. Choose from nine week-long sessions each with a different science-focused theme.

Ocean Institute Summer Camp – Dana Point

Highlights: The Ocean Institute in Dana Point offers engaging, hands-on learning all summer long. Campers will experience the learning labs, tidepools, and unique maritime vessels in the week-long sessions. Camps are organized by age groups and activities are geared to each age group. Activities include meeting live animals, learning new songs and games, arts and crafts, using scientific tools, solving mysteries, taking a boat ride, kayaking, and much more. Virtual and in-class opportunities available.

Orange Summer Day Camps

Highlights: The City of Orange offers summer camps at locations throughout the city for kids and teens, including aquatics. Camp prices vary. Details and camp descriptions are available online.

Reptile Zoo Summer Camp

Location: Prehistoric Pets – 18818 Brookhurst Street, Fountain Valley
Ages: 5 – 12
Dates & Times: Monday – Friday 9AM – 12PM or 2PM – 5PM
Highlights: Animal-loving kids can sign up for summer camp and learn to be a junior zookeeper. The Reptile Zoo camps include hands-on behind the scenes experiences including handling live snakes and digging for fossils. Campers will learn about habitats and ecosystems, food chains and other animal facts. Sign up for full week summer camp or choose the Monday, Wednesday, Friday option. There are three week-long sessions to choose from. Campers will receive a camp shirt, workbook, jr. zookeeper certificate, and a six month membership to the Reptile Zoo.

RiseUp Athletics Gymnastics Summer Camps – Los Alamitos

Highlights: Campers are grouped by age and skill level and participate in an engaging selection of activities including cheer and gymnastics instruction, games, arts and crafts, interactive play, obstacle courses, and more. Sandy Feet Initiative

Location: Doheny State Beach
Ages: 12 and up
Dates & Times: July 7 – August 11, 2022; Thursdays 6PM-8PM
Highlights: A summer program for tweens and teens who want to hone their surfing skills and spend more time in the water. Sandy Feet Initiative is especially for siblings of children with special needs to meet other kids with shared experiences. Sandy Feet Initiative also hosts additional summer camp programs at beaches in San Clemente and Huntington Beach.

Highlights: Seal Beach offers a variety of Summer Camps for youth. Choose from exciting sports programs like surfing and basketball, to specialty programs like Pirate Camp, Minecraft Masters, theater, art, and more.

Sea & Sage Audubon Summer Nature Day Camps – Irvine

Location: San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary – 5 Riparian View Road, Irvine

Highlights: Sea & Sage Audubon Nature Day camps give campers the opportunity to get hands-on in nature and enjoy outdoor activities. Campers will enjoy bird walks and observations, journaling, games, songs, arts and crafts, dissections, presentations, learning about bugs, plants, and animals, scavenger hunts, and more.

St. John’s Lutheran School – Summer in the Son

Highlights: Choose from one day per week to 5 full days per week, with 9 weeks of summer camp planned at St. John’s Lutheran School. Each week is based on a fun summer theme with STEM activities, pizza lunch and waterslides on Wednesdays, and off-site field trips scheduled. Prices vary based on camp attendance.

Stratford Schools Summer Camp – Mission Viejo

Highlights: STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) based summer camps provide engaging hands-on learning opportunities for campers. Younger campers learn and explore with engaging hands-on educational activities, and elementary-aged campers work together to learn how to solve real-world problems through academic principles and concepts in a fun and encouraging setting. Middle School aged campers will participate in subject-based enrichment, receive test prep for high school entrance exams and more.

Tustin Summer Camps

Highlights: The City of Tustin offers a variety of classes, programs, and camps for everyone from toddlers to teens. Choose a once-a-week class or a summer-long camp. Kids can explore with LEGOs in multiple ways, from remote control mania to NASA-themed programs. Highlights: Summer camps at the YMCA are packed full of activities and exciting adventures. Camps include educational STEAM curriculum, special clubs like cooking, coding, and art, service learning projects, games, crafts, and more.
