Overall Opinion:

I ended up liking this mousse, so I give it 3.5 out of 5 stars.

I really like the color St. Tropez Purity produces; it’s golden and natural.  It’s not the deepest tan out there, but this is a great option for those looking for a sunkissed glow.

You need to be careful when applying because this mousse is white and has no color guide.  I actually like this because I didn’t have to worry about staining anything or creating a mess of my bathroom or bed.

The smell is better than most St. Tropez products, but the drying time still sucks.  It stayed sticky and wet on my skin for about 40 minutes after application!  This part was annoying; I hate feeling sticky.

But overall, I’d use this self tanner again, especially when I’m looking for a very natural, medium shade.

Detailed Opinion:

Look and Feel

This mousse is a little bit different than most in that it doesn’t have a color guide.  It’s a white, fluffy mousse.  I enjoyed the fact that you don’t need to worry about a brown color guide while applying it.

Application

There are both pros and cons to having no color guide.  The biggest positive is you don’t need to worry about a mess or staining anything.

A con is that you need to be extra careful when you apply it because you can’t see where you’re applying.

I noticed that I used a LOT of product when applying this one. So one bottle will only give you one or maybe two full body applications, which in turn makes this a very expensive self tanner.

But besides that, I didn’t have any issues applying it.  I think it’s relatively easy and clean to use.

Drying Time

As with most St. Tropez products, the drying time kinda sucks.  It felt sticky on my skin for a while after I used.

It dried in about 40 minutes, which can by typical of mousses.  I wish it dried faster because it was uncomfortable waiting for the stickiness to go away.  At least I didn’t need to worry about a guide staining anything.

Smell (Before Application)

St. Tropez Purity smells better than their other products. I’ve always found their original mousse to smell too perfumey.  But this one is different.  It has more of a fruity/light floral scent.

They say it’s a tropical scent, but I’m not sure I smell tropical.  Either way, it smells good!

Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)

By the next morning, it smelled like self tanner.

I could really smell the DHA scent on my skin until I showered it off.  So unfortunately, the good scent doesn’t last as the color develops.

Color Produced

I’m really happy with the color St. Tropez Purity produces.

Now, it’s not the darkest tan out there, but it sure is natural looking.  I got a medium shade tan after one application and it looked like I had spent some time in the sun.

The color was great… brown and sunkissed, not orange at all.

I had a little spot on the back of one of my legs that I think I missed just due to the lack of color guide, but even that streak wasn’t too bad.

If you’re looking for a dark tan, this isn’t it.  But if you’re looking for some natural looking color, I’d recommend this one.

Overall, I’m pretty happy with my tan!

How Long It Lasts

Unfortunately, my tan didn’t last for as long as I’d hoped.

It only lasted about 3 days before I felt I needed to reapply it.  The good news is that it faded as naturally as a self tanner can fade.

So this is a self tanner you’ll need to use bi-weekly to maintain your color.

OK For Men?

Yeah, I think men will like St. Tropez Purity if they’re looking for a natural, medium tan.

Price

This self tanner is $42.00 per bottle.  But you only get 2-3 applications per bottle, which makes it SO expensive. It’s comparable to a spray tan.

St. Tropez Purity Review

Is the St. Tropez water mousse good?

Tropez Self Tan Purity Bronzing Water Mousse probably isn't for you. The initial results were a very subtle glow, and while the color did deepen within an hour or two, it wasn't by much. While it didn't turn brown, my skin did look more even and vibrant, which is enough for me right now.
