He's saying that if you go to church, it doesn't mean your Christian. Like how if you go into a garage you're not a car.
Just because you go to church, doesn't mean you're a Christian. Likewise, stepping into a garage doesn't make you a car. Going to church is not the deciding factor of whether you're a Christian or not. you cannot expect to all of a sudden become a Christian just by going to church, just like you cannot expect yourself to become a car after stepping into a garage. (I just tried to explain it several ways, but they're basically all the same thing haha)
Hi, gertygert! I found this quote in a site which introduces as witty one though, how is this witty? the site; http://laffgaff.com/witty-quotes/
The quote is witty because you definitely cannot expect to become a car after entering a garage, that's impossible and funny to even think. So comparing that to becoming a Christian just by going to church (although many think this is true) is a powerful and witty way to express his strong opinion on this matter.
@hsiannayllop Now I got it!! so this one expresses how many people have bias mind about a person who just goes to church.
@fruitschimpo yes, that's a good way to put it!
@hsiannayllop so witty!! now I like that! thanks, hsiannayllop and gertygert!! [News] Hey you! The one learning a language! Do you know how to improve your language skills❓ All you have to do is have your writing corrected by a native speaker! Sign up
