Thank you for giving me this opportunity to be part of your team sample

You applied, you aced the interview and you got the job. Now what? If you decide to accept the position, it is polite to write a thank-you letter for a job offer. You will start out on the right foot in your new job by extending this gracious and professional gesture to your new employer. A thank-you letter for a job offer is to the hiring manager or the person who hired you. It should convey your appreciation for the opportunity and your excitement about joining the team. If you opt to write a thank-you email for a job offer instead of a handwritten letter, the same techniques apply.

Say Thank You

Thank the hiring manager, and others you have met, for the time and effort put into your hiring. They screened several candidates’ resumes and held many interviews before narrowing the choice down to you. You should always show your appreciation for their selecting you for a position. Your thank-you letter should include the title of the position you accepted.

Examples:

I would like to formally thank you and Mr. Doe for meeting with me and extending the offer to join your company as manager of compliance.

I wanted to thank you for offering me the marketing assistant position at XYZ Company.

Express Your Enthusiasm

You want the hiring manager to know that you are excited to start your new job. Keep exclamation marks in check but express your enthusiasm in a way that is comfortable for you.

Examples:

I can’t wait to be a part of your team. I’ve heard so many wonderful things about it and I’m delighted to join the company. Thank you very much for the opportunity.

It is such an honor to have been selected for this position. I have always had a lot of respect for the work the company does, and I am looking forward to getting started.

Confirm the Details

Confirming your start date and details about the job can help make sure everyone is on the same page. Include details such as salary and benefits to make sure there is no confusion.

Examples:

As discussed, my starting salary is $55,000 plus health insurance benefits after 30-days of employment. I will see you Monday at 9 a.m.

I look forward to joining the team on our agreed start date of Oct. 1. I am confirming my starting salary of $70,000, with two-weeks of paid vacation.

You should also confirm any tasks due for completion before your start date.

Examples:

I will be sure to get you the new hire paperwork before the start date.

I will complete the medical and insurance forms, as requested.

Reiterate Your Value

Though you have already proven yourself during the interview process, remind the hiring manager that you are a valuable addition to the company. It can reinforce to her that she made the correct choice in hiring you.

Example:

I look forward to bringing my experience, skills and network of contacts to ABC Company to help build upon its sterling reputation.

With my years of experience in this industry, I am confident that I can help your company expand. I’m looking forward to doing just that.

When closing a thank-you letter for a job offer, remind the hiring manager that he can contact you for anything he needs before you start. Sign off with another thank you.

How to Write a Thank You Letter to Your Boss

Writing a thank-you letter to a boss does not have to be daunting, though it can sometimes seem that way. Here are some tips to help you get started.

  • Express what you are thankful for simply and politely. Try saying it out loud first—just say the words that you're trying to express. Once you've tried several ways to say it out loud, try writing one down.
  • Give some specific examples of what you appreciate about them. Are they always on time? Do they remember important events in your life? Do they conduct all of their business fairly?
  • End your note with a look towards the future—something like "I look forward to continuing to work together."
  • Close your letter with "Sincerely yours," "Respectfully yours," "Yours truly," or "Best wishes."
