This 18-bedroom oceanfront home magically combines grandeur with the feel of the old Outer Banks. The warmth of natural materials abounds in marble, stone and slate, generously tiled bathrooms, granite kitchen and bar tops and tile and heart pine flooring. A commercial-type Viking kitchen and ample dining space make meals a pleasure. Several well-stocked libraries and other private places provide opportunities for quiet retreat. The pool table, baby grand piano with player-piano option, and PA system provide the tools needed for all occasions.

Enjoy sunrises over the ocean and sunsets on the sound from this home’s high elevation and extensive decking. A raised walkway leads you to the large pool and pool house. Enjoy the gazebo dune deck, a chance to see wild horses and ultimately, the ocean. "The Mark Twain" invites you to relax, escape the hardships of everyday life and create cherished beach vacation memories.

"The Mark Twain" features the latest in WiFi technology. New 1 GB WiFi goes beyond Zoom calls and YouTube. It helps with increased productivity for remote work, collaborate during corporate meetings, ability to play online multiplayer games, faster online shopping and streaming entertainment in multiple locations.

Dogs welcome (1 max., no cats). No additional fee or deposit required.

Special Events welcome in 2023 for an additional $1,500 plus tax. Please contact our office if you would like to make arrangements for a Special Event reservation.

"Enjoyed our stay at the Mark Twain. Loved the space of the house and the amenities. The house is showing some age. Appliances were tricky to use and outside decks were shaky. The house was well appointed and perfect for a large family gathering. Pool and pool house were great! The midges were bothersome and easily found their way into the house. There was an issue with the air conditioning on lower level and Twiddy was prompt and attentive to fix it. Overall a great stay!"

"Our family of 30+ absolutely loved the Mark Twain. The sleeping accommodations were large, spacious, clean, and very private. What was equally amazing was the dining and entertainment available on the 2nd floor. The kitchen was huge and large enough for 4 large pots of crab for steaming and 2 for corn on the cob. The location right on the Corolla Beach is unsurpassed. We will come back."
