It has been a month or so now that this notification will not go away on my odometer screen. I am aware of how to reset this alert when I change my oil, so that is not the problem (I have reset maintenance schedule numerous times, but it still comes up)
What I have noticed though, which is interesting.. is that if I reset it, and don’t touch my A/C controls at all, the message doesn’t pop up again. But once I do, for example: turn my AC fan speed up etc., the message immediately comes back up.
No extended warranty and this issue is driving me nuts. The message is right there in my face at all times while driving, and I can’t see my digital speedometer.
Has anyone else experienced this? Read anything about it?
I’m almost to the point of disconnecting/reconnecting my battery to see if that takes care of it. The dealer made it sound like switching out the battery is going to cause issues with my infotainment, car play etc. and will be a huge hassle. But obviously, every vehicle out there eventually needs its battery replaced anyway.
Any thoughts, tips, advice would be greatly appreciated!

Oct 17, 2021 I took my 2019 rav4 to the dealership for regular maintenance , when I left the engine maintenance required show on my dash and it’s not going away. I did change the oil just recently too. Joined Sep 13, 2021 · 83 Posts Joined

If you reset it correctly it should not be showing make sure you ok the reset. It automatically comes back on after 5 or 6k miles. Joined Oct 17, 2021 · 4 Posts

Oct 17, 2021 I did it correctly
Any solutions?
Still showing engine maintenance required.
I been watching plenty videos of how to reset the maintenance required not the engine maintenance required
My car is showing engine maintenance required not maintenance required
All the videos that show how to reset it is about the issue when your car shows maintenance required not engine maintenance required
I read in
other forums about my problem and some people are driving with that in their dashboard for like 2 months. They still can’t figure out.

If it's an engine service light it will not stay off if there is problem detected you need to have it checked at the dealer.

I took my 2019 rav4 to the dealership for regular maintenance , when I left the engine maintenance required show on my dash and it’s not going away. It sounds like a CEL thing more than a PM service reminder. Why didn't you turn around and ask the dealer? I'm not a big believer in coincidence, and that's a
bit too coincidental. Even if it was just the service reminder message - you paid for that !

This save my life. I feel you!, it was very annoying
Thanks a lot to everybody for the support.
Finally fix the problem.
I found an solution for this, I don’t own a RAV4 or any Toyota products but, I do work at Enterprise Rent A Car and most vehicles I work with has some kind of problems. This 2020 RAV4 had the same issue about “engine” maintenance required.
The solution I found as I were browsing the settings, if you press the Menu button on the display screen, go to
setup, then scroll down to see vehicle, then vehicle customization, last but least Convenience Services and basically turn it off. You can turn off the vehicle and re-start it up, “engine” maintenance require won’t pop up “if” you did the steps correctly. Google wasn’t any help on this, so I had to figure it out myself. Turning off convenience services is an temporary fix but, at least the message is off.
I took my 2019 rav4 to the dealership for regular maintenance , when I left the engine maintenance required show on my dash and it’s not going away. I did change the oil just recently too. I just had the same problem with my 2020 Toyota Corolla SE. I have 88,000 miles because I drive for
Uber and Lyft. Anyways it was this same coolant bypass valve that cracked and started leaking on mine too and shorted out the part where the harness plugs in.
Any solutions?
The dealer wanted $600 to replace it but I just bought the part for $125 and did it myself. Took about one hour not a big deal. I also spent $25 on a gallon of Toyota red coolant as well. You lose a little bit when changing it.

Stop at a Autozone and have them read the CEL from the ODB-II port.

Stop at a Autozone and have them read the CEL from the ODB-II port. I’ve had it ran for codes and nothing came back. It drives fine and handles well

It's no big deal just reset it, It's just a reminder for oil change or tire rotation or what ever. You can reset it using the dash screen menu it will come on every 5 to 6000 miles.

Maintenance light does not set codes cause it's just a light (Engine light) does.

Maintenance light does not set codes cause it's just a light (Engine light) does. The std used to be "Vehicle Maintenance". Anything "Engine" was reserved for CEL.
So, if Toyota changed something, then they made a mistake.
