You need to either return to the lubeshop and find out what they used, or replace the fluid with dw-1.
atf fully synthetic is just the job code, not the brand used.
for example in most cars at my shop we use Total G3. Total is the brand G3 is the product; which has a data sheet stating which oem fluids are covered.
I've been at my shop for 7 years and there has never been an issue with G3.
....
that being said we do use oem dw-1 for auto hondas, and not G3, as G3 only covers dw-1 outside of warranty.
Actually, the first question is “Do I need to change my transmission fluid at all?” For the answer, consult your Honda Owner’s Manual. Unless there’s a leak or a problem, some newer transmissions are designed to never need a fluid change.
But let’s say your car does need a transmission fluid flush as part of preventive maintenance. The top reason to change it is to keep your transmission operating at its best. Like any other fluid such as engine oil, transmission fluid becomes less effective over time. Stop-and-go driving, towing or other high-stress conditions can shorten its life even further. Unlike other fluids, however, transmission fluid doesn’t just lubricate the transmission parts, it also acts as hydraulic fluid, helping keep the transmission cooler and helping with shifts.
In a practical sense, the most important reason to perform preventive maintenance on your transmission comes down to dollars and cents: getting a transmission fluid flush might cost you a few hundred dollars, but a new transmission will cost thousands.

This is the right answer. Never use anything but genuine Honda fluid in a Honda transmission, especially an automatic.
With Hondas, the two things that you never compromise on are transmission fluid and timing belt intervals. Everything else is negotiable.

This guy is right, go OEM.

I am not sure the type you require. But my plain jane automatic civic oem fluid was purchased at the dealer at a very reasonable price.
The 2012 Honda Civic takes 2.5 quarts of transmission fluid. The transmission fluid needs to be replaced every 30,000 to 60,000 miles. Along with fluid changes, terrible sounds will come from the transmission. Old transmission fluid will be awful to the ear. A worn out torque converter will cause a headache. The transmission is one of the most critical parts of the vehicle. You will face issues at some point. If the transmission fluid leaks, that needs to be solved quickly. Delayed shifts can cause acceleration issues. The transmission may slip. You might experience shudders. Hard shifts may arise and that is no good. There could be jerking. The gears can become stuck.
