BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN BUSINESSThe Bachelor of Science in Business (BSB) is a professional degree with extensive arts, science and humanities content. The Bachelor of Science in Business degree is awarded when a student has successfully completed (1) a core of general education courses, (2) a core of prescribed business courses, (3) a group of courses in a concentration, and (4) elective courses to meet distributional and total credit hour requirements. Many of the courses that are part of the BSB offer opportunities for experiential learning. The program also contains a series of courses designed for career exploration and preparation. Students may select from three concentrations (Business Administration, Accounting/Finance or Business Economics) as well as several minors. ConcentrationsBusiness Administration ConcentrationThe Bachelor of Science in Business degree program with a concentration in Business Administration is designed to provide the most sophisticated training available in team work, leadership, communication, technology, and core business processes. Students are also able to pursue minors in Marketing, Human Resources, or Business Economics. Accounting/Finance ConcentrationThe Bachelor of Science in Business degree program with a concentration in Accounting/Finance is designed to provide undergraduate students proficiency and knowledge in the fields of accounting and finance. The program focuses on the application and use of financial information in managerial decision making. Additionally, it encourages the development of other professional skills in leadership, teamwork, communication, and technology. The Accounting/Financial Information Systems concentration is designed for individuals who want to pursue the Certified Public Accounting (CPA) designation and for students who are interested in the Certified Financial Management (CFM) or the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation. This program provides students with a comprehensive view of the inner workings of corporate, non-profit, and governmental organizations, as well as the complex legal and strategic environments in which organizations function. Students enrich core study in organizational operations through the selection of advanced quantitative skills courses. The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration prepares students for decision-making and leadership roles in business and public service. Students with the Bachelor of Science degree pursue graduate study in business, healthcare, sports management, human resources, human resources, law, and sports management, among others.
