2000 dodge dakota 4.7 crankshaft position sensor location

Bought a new (non Mopar) sensor and installed it due to the rubber gasket being broke and leaking oil. The old sensor snapped and I had a heck of a time getting it out. Well never did I have a check engine light light or code for this sensor, until new one was installed. Now I get Vrnk shaft, multi misfire, camshaft codes and occasional stall and rwv limit of 2,500 rpm's. Once I stop and wait say many 2 hours and restart it it runs fine for a while then same thing. It drops to 0 rpm loses power and then RPM's rise again and engine turns back to normal but with a 2,500 rpm's limit.

Where is the crank sensor for a 2000 Dodge?

The crank sensor on your truck goes into the block behind the starter. You have to remove the starter, and then you can remove the sensor. I would recommend removing the starter and spraying the sensor down with a ton of penetrating oil.
