2006 jeep liberty windshield replacement cost

My girlfriend's libby has a newly formed crack in the windshield and I was just wondering from all of you what the approximate cost of replacing it is. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I pay $100, the insurance pays the rest. I need a new windshield about every 18 months

my insuranace company cover the cost of mine windshield

maybe i need a different plan then! my deductable is 500!! thats like 2 or 3 times the cost of the window

I have a deductible insurance plan, too, but in my state, the insurance company will pay all to replace the windshield. It is a safety item: if you can't see it, you can't avoid hittin' it.

Before you spring for replacement on your own, call your insurance company. In many states they will pay for it all, regardless of deductible.

After 107,000 miles on my 2005 Ltd my windshield is trashed from rocks, ice falling from semis, etc.
But ya know, I think body flex started a 4" crack from the bottom drivers side. From there the crack went straight East to the pillar then straight West almost to the opposing pillar.
I've read similar stories on other forums but apparently there's never been a recall.
Windshield are not covered here in Indiana and my dedust is $500 so I've waited.
Will be selling it in June so will prolly have to buy a new one then. Wa da ya gonna do?

Just a note, body flex is not a cause of wind-shield cranks in the liberty. It has one of the stiffest Uni-Frames around.

And my Jeep has spent alot of time on two wheels(not on the same side) and Ive never had troubles with it.

My deductable is also $500, but there is a seperate glass coverage rider with a deductable of $100, or I could select a $50 deductable for a slight additional cost. I think most insurance companies have a seperate glass coverage. All the insurance compinies I have delt with in the Past 20 years have a glass coverage rider. Check your policy closely

My sister just had her windshield replaced on her '99 XJ this past Thursday for $180. She used Safelite and they actually came out to her and replaced the windshield in the parking lot. She is very happy with their work. They were also recommended by her insurance company. They do Liberties too for about the same price.

Our 2005 CRD is on its 3rd windshield, in 50,000 miles. We've also paid for rock chip repairs twice. The Jeep seems to excell at catching rocks tossed up by trucks on the highway. I've just added an EGR Super Guard Bug Deflector in the hope that changing the airflow over the car will help. It makes a little more noise around the top of the windshield, but that's a small price to pay if it saves us from more trips to the glass company, where I now have my own personal chair in the waiting room.
