Tickets

Do I need a ticket to visit Edge?

Yes! Tickets are required for everyone visiting Edge except for children aged 5 and under who visit for free. Tickets have a date and timed entry and all ticket sales are final. Ready to go sky high? Buy your tickets here.

What’s included in the ticket price?

All tickets to Edge include:

Can I get a refund or exchange my ticket?

All ticket sales are final. Tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded.

I want to visit at sunset. When should I book?

We highlight the sunset time on our homepage for that day as a guide for visitors. However sunset times change throughout the year. Depending on when you want to visit, you may want to do some research too. We’d suggest booking at least an hour before sunset to make sure you are up in time to witness it. Please note that sunset times are very popular, so early booking is advised. 

What is the difference between Peak and Non-Peak Tickets?

Peak days are indicated on the calendar when selecting the date and time you would like to visit Edge. To visit Edge on a Peak day, tickets are an additional $6. Peak and Non-Peak days are subject to change due to seasonality and holidays.

What does the photobook consists of?

The personalized photo book you can purchase with your Edge tickets will include two photos taken for you along with several different sections of fun facts and information about Edge, Vessel, and Hudson Yards.

Your Visit

Is there a time limit on my visit? How long does a visit take?

There is no time limit to how long you can stay at Edge. The average length of stay is about 45 minutes to an hour, but if you still haven’t worked up the courage to step on the glass floor or if you are enjoying the incredible view with a glass of Champagne, feel free to stay as long as you like!

Do I need to print my ticket if I reserved through the website?

Is Edge appropriate for all ages?

Yes, everyone can enjoy the thrill of visiting Edge! Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult during their visit. Children 5 years old or younger do not need a ticket and may visit Edge when accompanied by an adult ticket holder.

What floor is Edge located on?

Edge is located on Level 100, with high speed elevators taking you up in 52 seconds. 

Should I dress for the weather?

The outdoor sky deck is open to the elements and the New York weather conditions, which can vary from those on the ground. We’d recommend that you come prepared. Remember, you also have access to the indoor sky deck. 

What if the day I plan to visit Edge there is zero visibility due to weather?

Edge is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year, regardless of weather conditions. In the case of inclement weather, portions of the outdoor sky deck may be closed for safety reasons. Guests will be advised about weather conditions and visibility prior to entry. New York City does experience inconsistent weather conditions from time to time. However since weather conditions fluctuate and visibility can improve very quickly, we advise all of our guests to arrive for their ticketed time. Edge tickets are sold on a non-refundable basis. Remember, the Edge experience encompasses more than just the spectacular view. Visit our Discover Edge page to find everything that’s included in your visit.

Is Edge open in poor weather conditions?

Edge has indoor and outdoor views and is open during all normal weather conditions, but we reserve the right to close the outdoor sky deck during inclement or extreme weather, at our sole discretion. Unless we have determined to close Edge, tickets will not be exchanged due to weather. If Edge or a portion of Edge closes due to severe weather conditions, Experience Ambassadors will be available to provide assistance and information. 

Is Edge accessible for a person with disabilities?

Edge offers elevators and ramps for those who require it for their visit. Guests requiring assistance e.g. auxiliary aids or services, should contact Guest Services at (332) 204-8500 or [email protected] in advance of their visit for additional assistance or information. 

Can I use the stairs if I am not comfortable taking an elevator?

No, unfortunately the stairs are not available for guest use, except in an emergency. All guests must access Edge by elevator. The journey to the top takes just 52 seconds!

Can I bring my pet?

Only service animals are permitted on Edge. 

Can I bring food or drinks?

No outside food or drink is allowed.

Are food and drinks available?

There is no outside food and drink permitted at Edge, however, water in clear plastic bottles are allowed. Glass bottles are strictly prohibited. We have a Champagne bar that offers an assortment of snacks and beverage options. For our full champagne bar menu options please click here.  Please be respectful of other Edge guests when eating and drinking.

Are baby strollers allowed?

Yes, strollers are allowed but you will be asked to remove your child and fold your stroller up for access to the elevators as well as the escalators within the Edge experience.

Can I bring bikes, scooters, or skateboards?

Bikes, scooters, or skateboards are not allowed at Edge. There is a bike rack nearby on 30th and 10th Avenue.

Can I bring luggage?

Normal-size backpacks and bags are permitted at Edge.  Large bags and luggage are not permitted and we do not have lockers or storage capabilities for your personal items. For security purposes, Hudson Yards reserves the right to inspect any bags. You consent to such an inspection by visiting Edge. 

Can I bring balloons?

No. Balloons are not allowed at Edge.

Can I take pictures?

Yes! We encourage you to take photos of your experience. Remember to tag #EdgeNYC if you share your images on social media, we love to see them!

Are there any items that will be confiscated when I go through the security checkpoint?

No weapons of any kind, including costume accessories, will be permitted beyond the security checkpoint. Bottled water is allowed in a closed container. Any outside food will be confiscated. 

Can I wear a costume at Edge?

Costumes and masks for non-PPE purposes are to be cleared by our security personnel on-site. If costumes are deemed inappropriate and/or unsafe, Edge has the right to deny entry or request costume removal.

Is there a gift shop?

Yes, the gift shop is located on Level 4 of The Shops and Restaurants at Hudson Yards. Edge souvenirs are also available on Level 100. 

Is there Assistive Listening & Handheld Captioning Available?

Assistive Listening
Edge’s Handheld Devices feature Assistive Listening, which amplifies sound through headphones or an induction loop throughout the digital portion of the experience. Recommended for Guests with mild to moderate hearing loss, Edge’s Handheld Devices are available from Box Office on a first-come, first-served basis. It is recommended that you bring your own headphones or induction loop as the device has a standard headphone jack.

Handheld Captioning
Edge’s Handheld Devices feature Handheld Captioning, a portable captioning system which displays on-screen text throughout the digital portion of the experience. This service is available from Box Office on a first-come, first-served basis.

Can I propose at Edge?

Yes! Guests who are interested in sharing this momentous occasion with us are more than welcome to do so. Guests are encouraged to purchase standard admission tickets to visit us during public hours with no additional accommodations for their proposal. 

What are your COVID-19 policies?

In accordance with the City of New York’s Key to NYC program, effective March 7, proof of vaccination is no longer required at Edge and City Climb.

Can I make a group booking?

Can I get married on the Sky deck?

Unfortunately we are unable to host a wedding ceremony at Edge outdoor sky deck as we have a policy in place that we don’t host ceremonies on the deck. You are however welcome to visit Edge at any time to take photos. For an event indoor on Edge soaring 101 floors above Manhattan, there is a 3,500-square ft. event space that is glass enclosed, column-free and equipped with built-in AV capabilities. Located one floor above Edge, Peak Events offers a vibrant atmosphere and stunning views. How can I get the best price on tickets for Edge?

Make sure you book on our website to get the best price. 

I’m a New York City resident, are there any discounts?

Yes! We have a special rate for New York City residents so you can enjoy Edge! Please note that discounted NYC resident tickets are only available online. They are not available for purchase on site at the Edge box office or kiosks. Be prepared to present an ID with an NYC address upon entry. 

Are there any student discounts?

Unfortunately not. But if you are a student living in New York City, you can save by booking our NYC residents tickets here. 

Are there any discounts for members of the U.S. military?

Yes, we offer reduced admission for active and retired members of the U.S. military with valid ID. To book, please contact one of our customer service representatives here, or call (332) 204-8500. Please note that the discount is not available online.

Where is Edge located?

We are located at 30 Hudson Yards, New York, NY 10001. Please enter The Shops at Hudson Yards and proceed to Level 4 for entry to Edge. 

What if I miss the entry time on my ticket?

If you miss your entry time, please see an Experience Ambassador who may be able to accommodate you during the next available entry time. This accommodation is not guaranteed. Tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded. 

What if I arrive earlier than my entry time?

We encourage you to explore all Hudson Yards has to offer while you await your entry time. There is no waiting area at Edge for upcoming entry times. 

What if I need additional tickets when I arrive?

Tickets for sale at Edge are subject to availability, there is no guarantee we will be able to accommodate additional tickets or that your entry time will have additional reservations available.  We encourage you to book online if possible before your visit. 

City Climb

What is City Climb?

City Climb, the highest external building climb in the world, is a one-of-a-kind aerial adventure experience. Located above Edge, the highest outdoor sky deck in the Western Hemisphere, City Climb challenges Climbers to scale the outside of a 1,200+ foot supertall building, then lean out from the outdoor platform at the pinnacle of the skyscraper for the ultimate skyscraping adventure.

Led by trained guides, small groups traverse a series of open-air platforms and stairs along the perimeter crown of the skyscraper. State-of-the-art trolley and harness systems secure guides and guests to steel rails throughout the entire journey. With no obstructions along City Climb’s exterior perimeter, at various points throughout the experience Climbers can lean out across the open edges with nothing but air and breathtaking views of New York City. Offering never before seen skyline views, City Climb is an experience Climbers will remember for the rest of their lives.

At the end of the journey, Climbers can enjoy a victory lap at Edge with entry included in your ticket. Tickets are now available at www.edgenyc.com/cityclimb.

 

Is City Climb safe?

The safety of our Climbers and Climb Guides is our primary concern. City Climb was carefully engineered and rigorously tested to meet or exceed all local and federal safety standards and guidelines.  All equipment is inspected daily and signed off by both our maintenance technicians and our Climb Guides. All personnel complete extensive training to provide you with this experience of a lifetime. Climbers also receive a safety briefing to familiarize themselves with all equipment and as well as the course prior to starting their adventure. Following the comprehensive safety briefing, Climbers are fitted with specially designed safety harnesses, and secured into the course by City Climb Guides via lanyards attached to a trolley, that which seamlessly moves with the Climber throughout the entire journey.

Who can visit City Climb?

Based on the manufacture engineering specifications, for the safety of our Climbers and Climb Guides, City Climb participants must be:

Age: 13+

Height: 4.9ft - 6.7ft

Weight Requirements: 65lbs to 310 lbs

The following persons should not participate:

  • Guests under the influence of alcohol;
  • Guests under the influence of drugs or medications that could impair judgment;
  • Guests with heart conditions;
  • Pregnant women or those who may be pregnant;
  • Guests with disabilities that may interfere with their safety while participating in City Climb;
  • Guests with vertigo;
  • People with motion sickness;
  • Guests with any physical, mental, or psychological ailments, disorders, or diseases that would inhibit their ability to participate in or could be aggravated by this experience. 

 

Can I bring a camera or my own recording device?

No recording devices allowed on the course. All loose articles, including cameras, must be stored in a free locker during the climb for safety. Our Climb Guides will record the entire experience, as well as take still photos along the way. As part of the admission fee, all Climbers will receive a complimentary video of their City Climb.  Still photos will be available to purchase as part of a pre-visit package or after the Climb.

Will City Climb operate year round in all weather conditions?

City Climb will operate year-round in most weather conditions. However, high winds, heavy rain, lightning, and certain extreme temperatures, may cause us to delay or cease operations to ensure the safety of Climbers and Climb Guides.

What should I wear?

All Climbers will be provided a City Climb Suit that is to be worn over clothing. All City Climb Suits are fully laundered/disinfected after each use. Climbers should wear clothing that is comfortable for walking and climbing stairs, and please ensure that it is appropriate for the weather conditions. Note that any loose items, such as watches and earrings are required to be removed as well. All Climbers are required to wear secure fitting, completely enclosed shoes that cover all of the foot, up to the ankle, without any toe or heel openings. City Climb shoes are available, in the situation where a Climber's shoes do not meet the specifications. 

Can I wear glasses and/or sunglasses?

Yes, a tether will be provided to keep them secured.

What kind of shoes should I wear?

All Climbers are required to wear secure fitting, completely enclosed shoes that cover all of the foot, up to the ankle, without any toe or heel openings. City Climb shoes are available, in the situation where a Climber's shoe does not meet the specifications. 

Can I drink alcohol prior to my Climb?

All Climbers must have a blood-alcohol reading below 0.080 in order to participate in City Climb. During check-in, all City Climb participants will be breathalyzed. Any Climber who tests over the allowable limit will not be permitted to climb. If a Climber refuses to be breathalyzed, they will not be able to participate and their ticket will not be refunded.

Where's the best place for my family/friends to watch me from?

Friends and family can cheer on from Edge as Climbers reach the top of City Climb. The group can then meet up after the Climb for a victory lap at Edge, and toast champagne in the sky. Tickets to Edge start from $38 and can be purchased here.

Is there a secure place to put my belongings during my climb?

Yes. Free lockers will be provided to store Climber belongings. Normal-size backpacks and bags are permitted at Edge. The lockers cannot accommodate large bags and luggage. For security purposes, Hudson Yards reserves the right to inspect any bags. Climbers and guests consent to such inspection by visiting Edge. 

Can I bring medication on the Climb?

No loose items are permitted on the City Climb Course. Time will be provided before and after the climb to take medication. Climbers can store any medication in the free lockers provided. Climbers should ensure that they are free from any impairments due to medication, prior to checking in for a Climb session. 

Can I change or cancel my booking?

City Climb tickets are booked for a specific time and date and are a non-refundable purchase. 

 

Can I do group bookings?

City Climb can only accommodate a maximum of 8 guests per time slot. Guests booking for a party larger than 8 must book multiple time slots in order to accommodate the party size. 

How much time should I budget?

Between checking in, suiting up, and the Climb experience, Climbers should expect to spend approximately 1.5 - 2 hours total for the experience. Please arrive early for the timeslot as once the Climb time has passed, we may not be able to accommodate the Climber on another Climb on the same day, depending on availability.

How long does it take to visit the Edge NYC?

Is the Edge in NYC worth it?

Is The EDGE in NYC worth it? Yes, this observation deck is well worth it, and it's one of the best sky decks in the country. Its angled walls, glass floor, and incredible height make The EDGE, New York worth more than one visit.

Is the Edge climb worth it?

The Edge NYC is one of five observation decks in Manhattan. Each observation deck offers a different experience. The Edge is worth it, in my opinion. With the glass paneled floor, angled glass walls, and suspended sky deck, this is one of the most thrilling views in NYC.

Can you be late to the Edge NYC?

Guests must have a valid ticket to enter the Edge. Tickets are valid for the date and/or time specified on your ticket. If you are late, you may be permitted to enter at later time slot; however, admission is not guaranteed and is subject to availability.
