It worked fine in the hotel. Returned home, set it back up in my bedroom and turned it on. The machine initially began to power up, but then died. The air stopped and the screen went dark. Tried resetting by holding the power button for three seconds....no help. Ensured nothing was blocking the air tube. Tried resetting the air tube and SD card....nothing helps, cannot get the machine to power up. Any ideas???????? Thanks in advance Okie bipapPosts: 3456Joined: Thu Oct 15, 2015 4:14 pmLocation: Central Oklahoma Re: ResMed Air Sense 10 won't power upPost by Okie bipap » Sat Feb 09, 2019 9:57 am Have you checked all of the electrical connections to ensure they are securely seated? Have you tried to plug it into a different wall socket? The contacts within the wall socket can spread apart and not make proper contact with the plug. Does the green light on the power brick light up? If not, you may have a bad power brick. Your machine may have died on you. Sometimes machines just quit working for one reason or another. One of mine died while we were out of town. I set it up in the hotel and it refused to come on. I checked everything I mentioned above and it still would not work. My DME changed it out for me once I got back home and took it in to them. I am embarrassed to admit it, but the problem was a loose connection at the brick. I am embarrassed bc I am a 22-year retired Aviation Electrician, USN. Been troubleshooting electrical problems all my life. The brick has a shroud around it where the plug connects, so the physical connection is somewhat hidden, but I did push on the plug. Only thing I can figure out is that I must not have pushed hard enough. Found the problem as I retraced my steps for the 4th time. I was cringing at the thought of having to make an appointment with the VA bc that is a long lead time. Anyhow, your post is spot on and I greatly appreciate it. The ResMed is a beautiful machine and, so far, is working just fine. I do not do well without the CPAP machine and usually begin to panic when something goes wrong with it. Thanks again for your reply Kind Regards, Okie bipapPosts: 3456Joined: Thu Oct 15, 2015 4:14 pmLocation: Central Oklahoma Re: ResMed Air Sense 10 won't power upPost by Okie bipap » Sun Feb 10, 2019 6:12 pm Glad it worked for you. I understand about the VA being a long lead time on anything. I have not had to have much interface with them since I retired. The companies I worked for had very good medical insurance, and now I am on Medicare and Tricare. I am currently trying to have my disability rating adjusted. Don't know if it will work or not, but I am trying. Just finished up with that process. Took me 2 1/2 years. Not sure what caused more stress, my disabilities or the review process. Anyhow, waiting on my new award level now. Very relieved it is over with, however it turns out. Looking forward to retirement.........soon. If i play around with the connections over a 2-3 day period it can start working again. Does this machine have an inherent connection condition or a reset/ overload button? the power can be dicey down her and this usually happens in the middle of the night when the power goes out. I have a generator so the power always comes back on in a minute or two.Very strange and very annoying. Hard to believe it is a connection that goes bad just because the power goes out and comes back on again. It has happened 2-3 times now all under this same circumstance. Also, I have voltage regulators and surge protection for my entire home down here in Costa Rica due to energy issues so I doubt that is the problem. We also had a rare power interruption at the house late yesterday afternoon, and only for a few seconds. I went to bed, the unit was totally dead. I checked all the connections unplugged it plugged it back in, etc... . Nothing. I grabbed a different power supply from one of my laptops that had the same style connector and same wattage. The light flashed briefly on the top of the unit, then nothing. Went back to the original power supply and tried it one more time. Voila! It lit up like a Christmas tree and ran all night. Go figure. There’s got to be something very touchy in the electronics. paleriderPosts: 31150Joined: Wed Dec 16, 2009 5:43 pmLocation: Dallas(ish). "The same connector and wattage" isn't good enough, it needs the right voltage (24vdc) too. Power supply seems to check out. The screen flashes white twice, a second apart, every couple minutes. Otherwise black. The top start/stop light flickers green sometimes. Working fine 25 hours ago. Traveled, might have got knocked on luggage. (Yes I sometimes need to pack it). Is it dead or any hope? Did water get spilled inside the electronics by any chance? Quite possibly it won't make a good connection if not all the way in. Does that mean it is actually working again? If it is, I haven't been able to find that specific part in your post. Den . (5) REMstar Autos w/C-Flex

The brick is plugged in tight, but sometimes the plug going into the yellow connector on the machine does not make a good connection. I had a time when I thought I could not get it back working, but then I took a small metal nail file, and ran it around the round collar of that jack where the metal barrel makes contact with the inside of the jack. That fixed it. Sometimes when the unit gets unplugged, I have to do that again. Happy, you were able to find solutoin, thanks to Okie. Years ago, wasn't a member to sleep/pap forums. My pap did same thing, my pap wouldn't come on, called VA made appt to check pap. I packed my pap up in bag, waited 4 day's for appt. Got to clnic, sleep tech plugged my unit up, to clinic connection, pap machine worked fine. Do I feel stupid plug was in at home, but not pushed all the way in. That's what apnea brain fog does
Why is my CPAP not turning on?The problem can be with the power, tubing, or heating element. Or it may just be that an old machine needs to be replaced. In other cases, changes in your health or lifestyle may simply mean that your settings need to be changed to ensure you're getting the right amount of pressure.
Why wont my ResMed CPAP turn on?If your ResMed AirSense 10 won't turn on and the screen is black, your device is most likely asleep or the power may have been disconnected.
What do you do if your CPAP doesn't work?Treatment options for OSA patients requiring treatment, but who are unable or unwilling to tolerate CPAP therapy, include weight loss, oral appliances, and upper airway surgeries.
How do you reset a CPAP machine?Press the home button and the select knob at the same time for about 3 seconds. You will be given an option to erase data. Select yes.
