Type: Fall 2020 Anime

Plot Summary: Izuku "Deku'' Midoriya and his fellow students in Class 1-A of UA High's hero course have been chosen to participate in a safety program on Nabu Island. To further improve their skills and gain experience in more ordinary heroics, the students aid the kind citizens with small services and everyday chores. With the low crime rate in the quiet community, all seems well and good, but the rise of a new villain threatens to put the students' courage to the test and challenge their capabilities as heroes. A merciless villain by the name of Nine is in search of a certain "quirk" needed to fulfill his diabolical plan—creating a society where only those with the strongest quirks reign supreme. As his attack on Nabu Island endangers the lives of the residents, securing the citizens becomes the first priority for Class 1-A; defeating Nine along with his wicked accomplices is also imperative. A straightforward strategy is formulated until a young boy named Katsuma Shimano, whom Deku had befriended, suddenly requires particular protection. Concerned for the boy's wellbeing, Deku and his classmates must now devise a plan to ensure Katsuma's safety at all costs. With Nine wreaking havoc to find the catalyst for his ill-intended schemes and the heroes desperate to defend Katsuma from harm, will Deku and his friends be able to come out victorious, or will they find themselves unable to escape a hopeless situation?

Gonna preface this with the fact that I love My Hero Academia

The scene is set right after the third season. All Might asks Deku to go to I Island with him during his vacation. While there he runs into many of his classmates, all of whom are surprised to see the other.

While there they agree to go to that nights party together. Through various circumstances, they're all late - but ends up being for the best as villains soon take over the party and capture all of the pro heroes, including All Might!

What will our future class I-A heroes do? Will they be able to release our heroes and save the day? Tune in and find out!

This movie was great. There's no ultimate conspiracy to keep track of, it happens within a day, and the event that happens is set up within a matter of minutes. It was easy for me to guess who the real protagonists were - and sort of the reason for it - but there were still some surprises in there for me.

Yûki Hayashi (the person who composed the music) always moves me to tears with their music and though the movie uses the same soundtrack as the show, it's use really impacts how you feel in certain scenes. I was moved to tears in a lot of scenes (I'm also a very emotional person). I thought this movie was much better than heroes rising.

Overall, great movie experience, would recommend to any fan or even non fan for them to get a sense of the responsibilities and choices any hero will have to make during their career.

Music, art, storyline, fight scenes. This was one of the best movies I have seen, and I’m not even that into anime. The plot was developed so well!!

Good movie if you're a fan!

I love watching the show with my daughter so we rented the first movie. It was a little contrived that all the students would go to the same conference on an island, but it was great to get a lot of All Might time in a movie.

Has Japanese Audio!!! Colorful and Action Packed, nice addition to the BNHA lineup

I am not sure why some people are having issues with this, but when I rented the Original Japanese Version and looked at the audio settings in the player, the movie was indeed playing with Japanese voice acting. The subtitles were built into the movie itself. I didn't see an English audio option in the settings.

The movie was fun, action packed, and you get to see they UA Class A's colorful cast of characters. I would say that if you can get your hands on Heroes Rising that you'll get a *little* more exploration with One for All (OFA) and development between the characters, but this movie was primarily for the action and fun. Beautiful art as always. There are a few nods towards character development here, but it makes sense that there would be more progress in later seasons/Hero Rising.

TL/DR: you can watch with Japanese Audio. Fun, lots of action, great ending fight scene. Watch Two Heroes to see a little more background for All Might, and watch Heroes Rising if you want to taste more of One for All's possibilities and see Midoriya and Bakugou shine with more action from their classmates overall. Would say this movie is more of a complementary addition to the series than a necessity, and less fulfilling than Heroes Rising, but still worth watching.
