According to reporting from KENS 5 Eyewitness News, a serious car accident occurred following a police chase within the city of San Antonio. BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – A suspect is in surgery after a deputy shot him during a pursuit in east Bexar County that spanned into another county at one point, Sheriff Javier Salazar said. At that point, the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office and La Vernia police stepped in to help try to stop the suspect, Salazar said. The suspect made a U-turn near Sutherland Springs and headed back into Bexar County, where deputies attempted to use spike strips to stop the suspect at the county line, Salazar said. Salazar said the suspect then accelerated toward the deputy, and the deputy pulled out his service weapon and shouted orders at the suspect. Salazar said the deputy who shot the suspect is a six-year veteran of the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office and has been on patrol for three years.

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police say an officer and a suspect are in the hospital after a pursuit led to a crash on the Southwest Side. According to police, a juvenile female suspect stole a black truck from another juvenile female who suffered a broken leg when trying to get her vehicle back from the suspect. The suspect in the vehicle did not stop, and a supervisor authorized the officer to pursue the truck, police said. The pursuit ended at Old Pearsall Road and West Military when the suspect crashed into an officer headed down the opposite way of traffic, according to police. Police say the South Patrol officer is a 2-year veteran of the department.

Man crashes stolen vehicle in Bexar County after leading Guadalupe County deputies on pursuit

BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office patrol officials say they arrested a man and three people were sent to the hospital after a pursuit that ended in a crash in Bexar County. Deputies say they received a call for a stolen vehicle from a gas station in Guadalupe County. Officials say the man inside the stolen Ford F-250 led the deputies on a pursuit to Bexar County. The man in the truck crashed into three vehicles near the area of I-10 East and Loop 1604 in northeast Bexar County, officials said. Deputies say the man faces charges for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle or theft of a motor vehicle, evading arrest-motor vehicle, reckless driving, and five counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
