University of Michigan School of Information (UMSI) Application RequirementsUMSI seeks diverse students in its Bachelor of Science in Information Programs who have a strong academic record, demonstrated leadership capacity, and who have engaged with community or campus organizations. Bachelor’s degree students must complete an application for admission to the University and may apply to be admitted as high school students, transfer students from other colleges and universities, or as sophomore cross-transfer students from other U-M schools and colleges. Applicants must complete the Common Application and submit other required documentation and fees by February 1 each year. In the Master of Science in Information program, UMSI seeks academically diverse students with backgrounds in social sciences, education, engineering, humanities, and health sciences. To apply for admission to UMSI, students must have completed a bachelor’s degree from an accredited or recognized college or university with at least a 3.0 GPA. Tuition and Financial AidUndergraduate tuition and fees for U-M are $15,262 a year for Freshman/Sophomore (Lower Division) in-state students and $17,188 a year for Junior/Senior (Upper Division) in-state students. Graduate tuition and fees are $23,456 a year for in-state students. Out-of-state tuition and fees for Lower Division students are $49,350 and for Upper Division, $52,814.
