Marriot’s Gaylord Opryland Resort is one of the premier Christmas light displays in Nashville just for the sheer magnitude of it. Over 3 million Christmas lights adorn the hotel’s grounds, from the lobby to outdoor displays.

With hanging guitars paying homage to Music City to an illuminated Nativity on the front lawn, there isn’t one corner of the property that isn’t awash in holiday glow. And this year will feature fun new activities like ice skating, ice tubing, and more!

#2 – Holiday Lights at Cheekwood

The Cheekwood Estate is breathtaking on any given day but truly comes alive at Christmas with some of the best holiday lights in Nashville. This annual tradition envelops the estate’s gorgeous botanical gardens and woodland sculpture trails with holiday lights that give the very trees an ethereal glow.

Over one million lights will be on display over Cheekwood’s 55 acres of botanical gardens! Plus, there will be special attractions for kids and families like the Children’s Wonderland, Reindeer Village, Nutcracker Marche in the Mansion, and the always-popular Dancing Lights of TRAINS!

#3 – Franktown Festival of Lights

Another one of the best Christmas light displays in Nashville is only a short drive away in Franklin at the Franktown Festival of Lights! This holiday light spectacular will be held at the Williamson County Ag Expo Center and can be enjoyed from the comfort of your car!

A mile-long stretch of winter wonderland has been built so you and your family or friends can safely enjoy some of the best local Christmas lights without even getting cold. And the best part is that all proceeds will benefit the Open Hearts non-profit to help at-risk youth in our area. So pack up the car and check out the Franktown Festival any evening throughout December.

#4 – 2021 Festival of Lights in Hendersonville

Our final choice for the best Christmas lights in Nashville 2021 is a short drive away in Hendersonville at Memorial Park. This year’s Festival of Lights will be a bit different. There will be a drive-through lights display at Memorial Park, but that’s not all!

#3 – Hillsboro-West End Holliday Lights and Carriage Tours

This historic Nashville neighborhood goes all out adorning their classic Craftsman and Tudor homes with holiday lights. Horse-drawn carriages are available to take you up and down the streets in turn-of-the-century style, with a new Trolley Night available on December 7th. All proceeds benefit the Hillsboro Neighborhood Association.

#4 – GLOW Nashville

GLOW Nashville is not one of your typical Christmas lights displays in Nashville. Located in First Tennessee Park, home of the Nashville Sounds, the entire baseball field will be illuminated with holiday light sculptures, an enchanted Elf Forest and a glowing Arctic Circle complete with polar bears. The centerpiece will be a 100-ft Christmas tree standing taller than the Sounds’ guitar scoreboard. If you like your Christmas lights on a grand scale with plenty of other activities, an evening at GLOW will fit the bill.

#5 – Zoolumination

The Nashville Zoo literally takes on a whole new light during the holiday season with intricate Chinese lantern light displays portraying the zoo’s animals.  Traditional Christmas lights illuminate the trees and habitats and Santa is on hand each night, with Christmas carols performed by local bands and choirs on specific nights. This is one of the Christmas light displays in Nashville that’s perfect for little ones, enabling them to walk with ease among the displays and exhibits.
