What is audi advanced key

@Phill_ I never for one moment took your first post to mean you select the advanced key specifically because the allegedly inferior security puts your family at a lower risk. To be honest, my scepticism over it has nothing to do with security. It's because I cannot for the life of me see what's advanced about it or what problem it solves.

I've had two lots of friends who have forgotten their advanced key was in their pocket when their spouse dropped them off and drove off. One of them was being dropped off at the airport. By the time her husband realised the car was two tons of useless metal she and the key had gone through passport control. When they were telling me about it afterwards, one of them actually said "if only there was a handy place to store the key in the car to prevent that happening....". It took all of my powers of self control not to laugh out loud.

I'm old enough to remember when all cars had an ignition key and separate starter button. Combining the two into one mechanism was considered a step forward, and that was in the 1960s.

I keep my key in my pocket all the time when I’m driving, that way if someone drags me out of the car at traffic lights they can’t re start the car once they’ve turned it off

Comfort and convenience are key to every Audi design, and the team at Audi Stevens Creek is eager to help you take full advantage of all the latest features. One feature that many drivers find indispensable is the Audi Advanced Key, which allows you to enter and start your Audi with the key in your purse or pocket.

Selecting Which Doors to Unlock

The Audi Advanced Key allows you to select whether this function unlocks all of the doors, or just the driver's door. To choose, put your vehicle in park and enter the Car menu. Here, you'll select Car Systems > Vehicle Settings > Central Locking > Unlock Doors. Here, you'll be able to choose from "All" or "Driver."

Using Memory Settings

Another advanced feature on many of the new Audi vehicles at our San Jose showroom is the ability to pre-program your preferred seat and mirror positions to sync with your individual key. This way, the settings will adjust automatically when your key is detected, and the door is opened.

To activate this option, enter Car > Car Systems > Vehicle Settings > Seats > Driver's Seat > Remote Control Key, and select "On." Once you enable the system on, it will automatically save the driver's seat settings for each individual key.

Hitting the Road

Once you're in the vehicle with your Audi Advanced Key, getting things going is a breeze. Simply put your foot on the brake and press the Engine Start | Stop button to turn on the engine. Do the same to turn it off when you reach your destination.

Does Audi Advanced Key have remote start?

Audi Advanced Key Capabilities With Audi Advanced Key, you can unlock your car doors or start your vehicle without needing to dig in your purse or pockets for the keys. While not a complete remote start, Audi Advanced Key drivers can start the vehicle using a push start mechanism that does not require a key insertion.

How secure is Audi keyless entry?

Thought keyless entry and ignition systems were more secure? Sadly, this simply is not the case. The keyless Audi A3, Audi A4 and Audi A6 all failed the ADAC security test, meaning the doors of these vehicles were able to be illegally opened and the engine was able to be illegally started.
